米国政府は、エイリアンの潜在的な技術が発見された場合、リバースエンジニアリングするプログラムを検討していたことが、国防総省の報告書で明らかになった。
国防総省が公表した、全領域異常解決局（AARO）が行った調査が金曜日（3月8日）に明らかになった。この報告書は、米国はエイリアンや宇宙船を隠していないと主張する一方で、政府がかつてエイリアンの技術をリバース・エンジニアリングするプログラムを検討していたことを明らかにした。
『コナ・ブルー』と題されたこのプログラムは、国土安全保障省（DHS）に提案され、地球外生命体を信じる市民の支持を集めた。しかし、計画が軌道に乗る前に却下された。
国防総省のパット・ライダー報道官は、エイリアンの技術のリバースエンジニアリングは行われていないと述べた。
「この提案は、DHSにおいて、このプログラムを立ち上げるために35プロスペクティブ・スペシャル・アクセス・プログラム（PSAP）が公式に要請されるほど、当初は一定の支持を得たが、最終的にはメリットがないとしてDHSの指導部によって却下された」と報告書は述べている。
国防総省のパット・ライダー少将（報道官）は、コナ・ブルー・プログラムの検討にもかかわらず、エイリアン・テクノロジーのリバース・エンジニアリングが実際に行われたことは一度もないと倍加した。
金曜日に報告書が発表された直後に発表された声明の中で、彼は「米国政府と民間企業が地球外テクノロジーにアクセスしたり、リバース・エンジニアリングを行ってきたという主張には、検証可能な証拠はない」と述べた。
AAROは当初、潜在的な「異常な、未確認の、宇宙、空中、水中、媒介物体」に対応するために設立された政府機関である。
政府機関であるAAROは、1945年から2023年までの間、アメリカ政府のすべての公式な調査活動を検証したと言われている。

報告書によると、AAROの調査員は、デイヴィッド・グラッシュのような内部告発者の主張にもかかわらず、アメリカが「オフ・ワールド・テクノロジーを所有したことがある」という証拠を発見しなかったという。また、報告書によれば、「米国政府の調査、学術機関が後援する研究、公式の検討委員会のいずれにおいても、UAPの目撃情報が地球外テクノロジーを示すものであることを確認した証拠はない」という。
国防総省の報告書の狙いは単純で、宇宙人の生命とテクノロジーをめぐる大衆文化の中にある噂を取り上げ、払拭することである。その中には、米国政府が「地球外の宇宙船や地球外の生物学的遺体」を回収したという話も含まれているという。
その代わりに、1960年代に目撃されたとされるUFOは、米国の試作スパイ機や宇宙船の極秘飛行のせいにされた。その他の目撃情報は、誤認された「普通の物体」という烙印を押された。
2017年、「チックタック」のような謎の機体が米海軍パイロットの横を飛行しているように見える3つのビデオクリップが流出した後、米政府はUFOに再び関心を持つようになった。2020年、米上院情報特別委員会はUFOの調査を求めた。
国防総省は翌年6月、海軍パイロットによる140件以上のUFO目撃に関する報告書を発表した。報告書は、エイリアンの活動の証拠はないと結論づけた。

The US government considered a program to reverse-engineer potential alien technology if found, a Department of Defense report reveals.
A Pentagon-published investigation conducted by the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) was revealed on Friday (March 8). While the report claimed to find that the US is not hiding aliens, nor spaceships, it did reveal that the government once considered a program to reverse-engineer alien technology.
Titled ‘Kona Blue’ the program was proposed to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and garnered support from citizens believing in the extraterrestrial. However, it was rejected before it ever took off.

AFP via Getty Images)“This proposal gained some initial traction at DHS to the point where a 35 Prospective Special Access Program (PSAP) was officially requested to stand up this program, but it was eventually rejected by DHS leadership for lacking merit,” the report said.
Major General Pat Ryder, the Pentagon’s press secretary, doubled down that reverse-engineering of alien technology has never actually been conducted, despite considerations of the Kona Blue program.
In a statement released shortly after the report on Friday, he said “[There is] no verifiable evidence for claims that the US government and private companies have access to or have been reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology.”
The AARO is a government office initially set up to respond to any potential “anomalous, unidentified space, airborne, submerged and transmedium objects”. It allegedly granted “granted full access to all pertinent sensitive” US government programs and was said to have reviewed all official government investigatory efforts from 1945 to 2023.

The report said that the AARO investigators found no evidence that the US “ever possessed off-world technology,” despite claims from whistleblowers such as David Grusch. It also found “no evidence that any US government investigation, academic-sponsored research, or official review panel has confirmed that any sighting of a UAP represented extraterrestrial technology,” according to the report.
The aim of the Department of Defense’s report was simple: to address and dispel rumors held in popular culture surrounding alien life and technology. It includes narratives that The US government recovered “off-world spacecraft and extraterrestrial biological remains,” they said.
Instead, alleged UFO sightings in the 1960s were blamed on top-secret flights of prototype American spy planes and spacecraft. Other alleged sightings were branded as “ordinary objects” which had been misidentified.
The US government gained a renewed interest in UFOs after a 2017 leak of three video clips that appeared to show mysterious craft that looked like a “Tic-Tac” flying past US Navy pilots. In 2020, the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence called for an inquiry into UFOs.
The Pentagon released a report on more than 140 UFO sightings by Navy pilots in June the following year. There was no evidence of alien activity in any of the instances, the report concluded.
