やっと🇪🇺ユーロ加盟国、🇨🇾キプロス共和国の首都ニコシアへ

ローマ字だとトルコ語との区別が解りにくいので、英語のNicosia （ニコシア）で表記します。
レフコシアという名は、紀元前300年頃🇪🇬プレトマイオス一世の息子のレフコスがここに都市を築いたことに由来。
ニコシアと改名されたのは13世紀、🇫🇷リュージニャン時代、フランス人達には、ギリシヤ語のレフコシアという名が発音しにくかったと言われ、トルコ人達はそれをトルコ語でレフコシャにしたらしいです。
昔はこの集落はLedra (レドラ)と呼ばれ
(だからクロスポイントのあるメイン道路はレドラ通り？)
ニコシアは、ビザンティン時代から島の首都でした。
残念ながら、南側は殆ど観光していません……

🗼【Shacolas tower】(シャコラスタワー)
タワーと言っても、🏢11階建てビルの最上階が展望台になっている高さ。
「🌍歩き方」には、「1階はウールワース(懐かしい！🇬🇧連邦だから？！)」とありましたが、今（2018.9）はＨ＆Mでした🇸🇪
入口も、ごく普通のオフィスビルと変わらないので、知らなければ気付きません。
でも旧市街は高い建物が無いので、素晴らしい夕焼けも綺麗に見えました🌇✨

夜、旧市街を歩いていたら、大きなイコンが目に入り、開いていたので入りました。(🆓）
中は暗くて、人も居なくてちょっと怖かった
