オーストラリアでは、生徒たちは自分たちの教室を掃除しません。ほとんどの学校が専門の清掃員を雇っています。日本では、生徒たちが毎日自分たちの教室を掃除します。それがいちばんびっくりしました。もちろんここ日本では、ぼくはクラスメイトたちと一緒に教室を掃除します。ぼくらの教室はたった一日で汚くなります。ぼくは二度とごみを捨てることはしません。ですが、掃除をする代わりにもっと自分の時間がたまに欲しくなります。
