実家の宮崎に帰り、人生初の渓流釣り。
前日まで大雨洪水警報が県内の至る所で出る中、ちょっと小雨ふる6時前に出発し、渓流の中へ。
普段よりはだいぶ水量が多いとのことだったけども、経験者がまぁいけるでしょということで出陣。
水の色は泥色しているかもと心配しましたが、透明度の極めて高いきれいな状態でした。
近所の釣具のポイントでは、管釣り用のルアーは売っているものの、渓流用がほとんどなく、DuoのSpearheadとDaiwaのドクターミノー２、あとメガバスのグレートハンティングしか売っていませんでした。仕方がないので、各１個ずつと、メバル用のミノーで同じようなサイズのが安く売っていたので、それを２個、合計５個のルアーで臨みました。
まずメバル用のミノー、見た目は渓流用と対して変わらないけども、動きが鈍くて、流れの激しい渓流の中では、まともに泳がない。トゥイッチングしながら巻くと、全然、水を噛んでくれず、引っこ抜けるような挙動ばかりで、素人ながら、これじゃ駄目感。。。
詳しいことはわからないけど、やっぱり餅は餅屋で、渓流用のミノーは違うのかな？と思いました。
道中、素晴らしい景色の連続で、色々書きたいことがあったけども、タイトルにある通り、釣行中に携帯紛失してしまい、写真もブログを書く気も失せるほどの残念な結果に。。。なので結論だけ。
1匹、手のひらサイズの綺麗なヤマメがドクターミノー２でHit。
Spearheadはロストしてしまい、ジョイントミノーなので、流れが早いなかでちゃんと動くのか不安だけど、一番高価なグレートハンディングをロストするのは嫌だな、という理由だけでドクターミノーをつかっていましたが、運よく釣れました。
渓流釣りのアクション、管釣りとは比べ物にならないほど早くしかもトゥイッチングしながら巻いていたのに、当たってきたのはちょっと驚き。
しかも、5cmほどのミノーに対して、15cmもないほどの小さなヤマメがアタックするとはこれまた驚きでした。
嬉々として魚をネットにすくい、やった写真撮影！！！と思って、そこでライフジャケットのポケットがいつの間にか全開になって、中に入れていた携帯と、管釣り用のスプーンウォレットがなくなっているのに気付き、幸福から絶望への急転直下。
その後、もう1匹釣れたから満足！と自分に言い聞かせて、登ってきた沢を一人で下り、途中、幸いにもスプーンウォレットは淀みに浮かんでいるのを発見し回収。
しかしながら、携帯(iPhone)は見つからず、Apple Watchの通信範囲内にも現れず、完全にロストor故障
はー、、、、、iPhone13 mini、しかも支払いまだ残っている状態。
改めて値段調べて、おい、9万以上するじゃないかと。
人生初の渓流釣りでプライスレスな経験でしたが、
非情なプライスを突きつけられる形になってしまいました。。。
しかも、バックアップもとってなかったので、ありとあらゆる連絡情報がリセットかなぁ。
I returned to my hometown in Miyazaki and went for my first ever river fishing experience.
Despite the widespread heavy rain and flood warnings throughout the prefecture until the day before, I set out just before 6 in the morning with light rain falling, heading into the river.
Although the water level was considerably higher than usual, the experienced folks assured me it would be manageable, so I embarked on the adventure.
The water was clear and had an exceptionally high level of transparency, presenting a beautiful state.
At the local fishing gear shop, they had lures for pond fishing, but there were very few options for river fishing. They only had Duo's Spearhead, Daiwa's Doctor Minnow2, and MegaBass's Great Hunting. So, I bought one of each, and there was a cheaper minnow meant for rockfish that was similar in size, so I got two of those. In total, I went fishing with five lures.
First, I tried the rockfish minnow. Its appearance wasn't much different from a river fishing minnow, but its movement was sluggish and it struggled to swim in the fast-flowing river. When I tried twitching it while reeling, it hardly bit the water and behaved as if trying to escape. Even though I'm not an expert, I could sense it wasn't working well.
I don't know the technical details, but it seems like the right tool for the job matters, just as they say.
The journey was filled with breathtaking scenery, and I wanted to write about many things, but as the title suggests, I lost my phone during the fishing trip, which left me too disappointed to even think about taking pictures or writing a blog. So, let's jump to the conclusion.
I managed to catch one beautiful palm-sized Yamame trout using Daiwa's Doctor Minnow 2.
I lost the Spearhead, and since it's a jointed minnow, I was a bit skeptical about its performance in fast currents. But I didn't want to lose the most expensive lure, the Great Hunting by Megabass, so I stuck with the Doctor Minnow and luckily caught a fish.
The action of river fishing is entirely different from pond fishing, and I was surprised by how quickly the fish took the bait despite the fast reeling and twitching. Additionally, it was astonishing that a tiny Yamame, not even 15cm long, attacked a 5cm minnow.
With excitement, I netted the fish and was about to take a photo when I noticed my life jacket's pocket was fully open. Inside, my mobile phone and the spoon wallet for pond fishing were gone. My happiness instantly turned into despair.
Later, after catching another fish and trying to convince myself that I was content, I descended the stream alone. Fortunately, I found the spoon wallet floating in a pool and managed to retrieve it.
However, my iPhone was still missing. It didn't appear within the range of my Apple Watch's communication, and it seemed lost or broken.
Sigh... It's the iPhone 13 mini, and I haven't finished paying for it yet. I checked the price again and realized it's over 90,000 yen.
It was a priceless experience for my first river fishing adventure, but I ended up facing an unforgiving cost...
And to make things worse, I hadn't backed up anything, so I might have lost all my contact information.
