少し時間が経ってしまいましたが、、
12月２、３日に東京体育館で行われたGS東京には
沢山の方にご来場頂き誠に有り難うございました。
皆さまのお力添えにより、大会を無事に終える事が出来ました。
今大会、日本はパリ五輪代表選考対象大会となっておりましたが、まだ決まっていなかった３階級で内定選手が決まりました。
・男子 60㎏級 永山竜樹（SBC湘南美容クリニック）
・女子 63㎏級 髙市未来（コマツ）
・女子 78㎏級 髙山莉加（三井住友海上火災保険㈱）
内定した３名の選手には心からお祝いを伝えたいと思います。
同時に惜しくも代表入りできなかった選手に対しては労いの気持ちを伝えたいと思います。
GS東京という場で選手たちは死力を尽くした試合を見せてくれました。試合を観てくださった方は、その試合から勇気や希望を感じることができたと思いますし、また、柔道の魅力というものも感じて頂けたのではないかと思っております。
これでパリ五輪代表が内定していない階級は男子100kg級のみとなりました。
100kg級には若手の台頭も見られ、代表争いは非常に厳しく、また混沌としています。
内定まで対象選手たちがどのような柔道を見せてくれるのか、見守っていきたいと思っています。
Team Selection for the Paris Olympics
Going back a little while ago now but I’d like to thank the huge number of people came along to watch the Tokyo Grand Slam at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on December 2nd and 3rd.
Thanks to everyone’s help the event went off without a hitch.
It was a selection competition for the Paris Olympics and representatives in three events that were still undecided have now been chosen.
・Men’s 60㎏ NAGAYAMA Ryuju （SBC Shonan Beauty Clinic）
・Women’s 63㎏ TAKAICHI Miku（Komatsu）
・Women’s 78㎏ TAKAYAMA Rika（Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co.）
I’d like to sincerely congratulate all three of them.
At the same time I would like to extend my appreciation to the competitors who despite their great efforts unfortunately did not make the team.
Being the Tokyo Grand Slam the athletes showed us that they were absolutely giving it their all in every match. I feel like everyone watching was filled with courage and dreams and could really appreciate the appeal of judo.
The only category for which a representative has not yet been chosen is the men’s 100kg.
We have seen an emergence of younger athletes in the 100 kg category making the competition for a place on the national team very tough and also complicated.
We will be watching closely to see what kind of judo those athletes show us in the run up until the official decision is made.
