先月、ハワイ柔道連盟にリサイクル柔道衣をお届けしてきました。
オアフ島で開かれた友人の柔道場創立５周年記念式典に参加するためハワイを訪れたのですが、その際に、柔道衣を50着を手荷物で運び、寄贈してまいりました。
ご存じのようにハワイでは今年８月、
マウイ島で大規模火災があり、その際に柔道衣を焼失してしまった方もいたということです。今回お届けした柔道衣が被災された皆さんに届き、
柔道を思いきり楽しむことができることを願っています。
私が理事長を務めている認定NPO法人JUDOsでは、
海外へ渡航する方に、手荷物でリサイクル柔道衣を運んでいただく
「柔道衣運搬スペシャル・プロジェクト」を実施しています。
世界には柔道衣が足りていない国がまだたくさんあります。
そこで、日本国内で使われなくなった柔道衣を寄付いただき、
各国の要望に合わせてお送りしています。
海外へ渡航する際、運べますよという方がいらっしゃいましたら、是非JUDOsまでご一報下さい。
また、現在、柔道畳も募集中です。
アフリカの国から希望があり、是非お送りしたいと考えています。
道場の入れ替え等で不要になった畳がありましたら、JUDOsまでご連絡下さい。
は明日から始まるグランドスラム東京にブースを出展していますので、
もしGS東京を観戦予定で畳を提供できるという方がいらっしゃいましたら、ブースにいるスタッフにお声がけ下さい。
その他、ブースではクイズに参加して頂いた方にはシールのプレゼントがあったり、スタンプコーナーなども準備しています。

Judo-gi to Hawaii
Last month I visited the Hawaii Judo Federation to deliver recycled judo-gi（judo uniforms).
The main reason for going to Oahu Island was to attend a ceremony celebrating the 5th Anniversary of the opening of my friend’s judo dojo so I took the opportunity to deliver 50 sets of uniforms at the same time.
As I’m sure you’re aware Maui suffered a large-scale fire back in August this year. Inevitably people also lost their judo uniforms in the blaze. I was able to hand uniforms to those people with the hope that they will be able to enjoy doing judo again.
The JUDOs NPO of which I am chairman, is running a Judo-gi Special Delivery Project requesting that people who are travelling abroad take recycled judo uniforms with them in their hand luggage.
There are still many countries in the world which have insufficient uniforms.
The idea is to source unused uniforms in Japan and send them to countries who have requested them. If anyone is able to take uniforms abroad for us please get in touch with the JUDO’s office.
We are currently also requesting tatami mats. We would very much like to send them to countries in Africa which have asked for help. If your dojo is renewing its mats and has some spare, again please contact us at the JUDO’s office.
We will be running a booth at the Tokyo Grand Slam tomorrow. If you’re planning to be there and have mats to donate, please come along to the booth and talk to our staff.
We also have a stamp corner at our booth and a quiz, anyone taking part will receive a sticker.
Again, this year you can take a pic at Instagram board which was super popular last year.
