先日、神奈川県内で行われた中学生の大会に行ってきました。
そこでつくづく感じたのは運営にあたっておられた指導者の先生方、関係者の皆さんの情熱です。
みなさん、子どもたちが思いきり力を発揮できるよう、休日返上で準備をされ、運営にあたっておられました。
大会はこうした皆さんのおかげで成り立っているということを感じましたし、
保護者のひとりとして頭の下がる思いがしました。
また、私も撤収では畳の片付けを手伝わせていただいたりしましたが、
一緒に仕事をすることの嬉しさを感じましたし、
人と人とが力をあわせて何かをやり遂げることの喜びのようなものも感じました。
今年から中体連関連の大会には、学校の部活だけでなく、クラブチームからの参加も認められるようになりました。
部活動改革の一環によるものですが、
これにより中学生のスポーツ活動は大きな節目を迎えました。
まさに今大会の関係者のみなさんのような情熱に支えられ、子どもの柔道指導は成り立っていましたが、そこに甘え、過重労働になってしまっていた面があったと思います。
部活動の地域移行については課題も多くありますが、少しでも多くの人にとって良い方向へ進むことを願っていますし、子どもたちがのびのびと柔道ができる環境を整えていかなければいけないと思っています。
Passion & JHS Sport
The other day I went along to a junior high school judo competition here in Kanagawa Prefecture.
What struck me most was the passion with which the teachers, instructors and everyone involved ran the event. They were all spending their days off preparing and running the competition so that the kids could demonstrate their full potential.
As a parent I felt humbled to see that the competition can only take place with the help of all these people.
Afterwards I stayed to help put away the mats and felt the joy of working with everyone and the feeling of working together to accomplish something.
Starting this year both students from junior high schools and from club teams are allowed to participate in Central Sports Federation competitions.
The decision is part of a wider club activity reform and is a major milestone for junior high school sport.
I think the judo instruction at this competition was successful thanks to the passion of everyone involved, however there was also an aspect that it was too much work.
Transitioning club activities to local communities creates many issues, however I hope that it will work well for as many people as possible. We need to set up an environment where children can freely participate in judo.
