７月末、東海大柔道部卒業生の阪本健介さんの
奥様・奈央さんと仲間の皆さんにニカラグアにリサイクル柔道衣を運んでいただきました。
プロサーファーである奈央さん（大村奈央さん）は、NSA日本サーフィン連盟で理事も務めるなど国内のサーフィンの普及発展に尽力される一方、仲間の皆さんとSDGSを広める活動もされています。
今回はその活動の一環で南半球を旅するということで、奈央さんからご連絡をいただき、この運搬プロジェクトが実現しました。
サーフィンと柔道とのコラボという形にもなり、JUDOs事務局一同喜んでいます。

先日、英国への帰国の際に運んでくださったのはマイク・カラン先生です。
柔道家のマイク先生は、私が英国に留学していたときに
ビザの手続きから何から何まで大変お世話になった方です。
また、私だけでなくたくさんの日本人柔道家が英国に滞在する際にお世話になっているはず。多くの人が頼りにしている方です。
今回は夏休みを利用して教え子の皆さんとともに来日され、
紙谷武先生考案の「やわらちゃん体操」の世界的普及に向けてのミーティングを行うなど
活発に行動されました。
NPO法人JUDOsの活動についても設立直後から応援してくださっている心強いサポーターです。
英国に運んだリサイクル柔道衣はウクライナから避難してきている子どもたちに届けて頂けるということです。

Working Together
At the end of July Tokai University Judo Club graduate SAKAMOTO Kensuke, together with his wife Nao transported recycled judogi to Nicaragua for us.
Nao, formerly OMURA Nao is a professional surfer and a director at the NSA Japan Surfing Federation. She has been working to develop and promote surfing in Japan and is involved in activities to promote SDGS. One of her projects involved travel to the Southern hemisphere and it was Nao who contacted us to help realize this transport project.
It ended up becoming a joint judo and surfing collaboration which the JUDOs office is thrilled about. A big thank you to OMURA Nao. NISHIMOTO Emiri and NISHIMOTO Juri.
Recently Mike Callan also carried donations for us when he made a return trip to Japan from the UK. Mike, a judoka, is someone who looked after me when I was an exchange student in the UK.
He helped me with everything right from my visa application. He not only helped me but has also helped a great number of other Japanese judoka who have spent time in the UK.
On this occasion Mike organized a visit to Japan for his students during the summer holidays. They took part in KAMITANI Takeshi sensei’s ‘Yawarachan Taiso (Exercises) and attended a meeting concerning Global Popularization.
They have been strong supporters of NPO JUDOs projects right from the start.
The recycled judogi we sent will reach refugee children in the UK who have fled from Ukraine. Mike sensei, Katrina and Lucy thank you so much!
I look forward to working with you again in the future.
