東京オリンピックの柔道競技が終了しました。
期間中は日本チームに対し、沢山の応援を頂き、大変有り難うございました。
無観客ではありましたが、選手たちはもちろん、我々は
皆さまからの応援を感じながら、力の限り闘い抜くことができました。
心から感謝申し上げます。
おかげさまで私が監督を務めた男子は、
５個の金メダルを獲得し、男女混合団体では銀メダルを獲得することができました。
個人では過去最多の金メダルという結果を残すことができ、
非常に嬉しく思っております。
ただ、私の心の中では団体も含め、敗れた選手たちも
精一杯闘ってくれたところに今大会の価値と意味があったと考えています。
今回の男子チームの結果は、強化コーチ、スタッフ、
各所属先の皆さん、練習パートナーなど、
日本柔道に関わってくださった全ての方々の頑張りの結晶です。
このチームで闘えたことを誇りに思いますし、
世界一幸せな監督であると思っています。
また、世界中の素晴らしいコーチ、選手達の存在があったからこそ我々は成長できました。
素晴らしいライバル達に巡り会えたことは
私の財産であり、誇りです。
彼らに対しても、心からの敬意と感謝を伝えたいと思います。
競技開催にあたっては、
医療従事者の皆さまをはじめ、大会組織委員会、JOC、IOC、国際柔道連盟などの関係者、
そしてボランティアの皆さんのお力により、滞りなく進められました。
日本武道館には素晴らしい時間が流れていたと思います。
全ての皆様に心から感謝申し上げます。

Thank you for all your support!
Judo matches at the Tokyo Olympics have come to an end.
I would like to thank everyone who gave us so much support over the duration of the games.
The games were held without spectators however our athletes and I still felt your support and were able to give our best performance.
I’d like to sincerely express my gratitude from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks to your support, the men’s team, of which I am coach, won five gold medals.
I’m ecstatic to announce that this is the highest number of medals ever won in individual categories, making it a new record.
However, in my heart I feel that the games were also of great value to those athletes who gave it their all yet lost, both teams and individuals.
The Men’s team result is the fruition of all the hard work and effort put in by the coaches, staff, officials and training partners to mention a few. It reflects on everyone involved in Japanese judo.
I am so very proud to have been a part of this team and feel like the happiest coach in the world.
Our progress is also thanks to the presence of wonderful coaches and athletes from all around the world. I’m very proud and grateful to have such amazing rivals.
I’d also like to offer my deepest gratitude to them.
On the holding of the Games, I’d like to express my sincere thanks to all the medical staff and members of the organizing committee, the JOC, the IOC, the International Judo Federation and the volunteers who made it possible.
Our time spent at the Nippon Budokan was superb.
Again, I’d like to express my sincere thanks to everyone.
