2021年になりました。
皆さん、新年明けましておめでとうございます。
まず始めに、年末年始に関わらず
新型コロナウイルス感染症と戦っておられる
医療従事者の皆様、エッセンシャルワーカーの皆様に心から感謝申し上げます。
また、新型ウイルスで犠牲になられた方とその御家族の皆様にお悔やみ申し上げますとともに、罹患された方にお見舞いを申し上げます。
昨年、我々の生活は大きく変わりました。
今なお厳しい状況が続き、制限された生活を余儀なくされ、
先の見えない戦いの中にあります。
しかしながら私は、2021年は新しい世界が作られていく
その始まりの1年となるのではないかと思っています。
世界中の人々が困難に立ち向かい、乗り越えた先には
必ずや明るい未来が作られていくはずだからです。
延期になった東京オリンピック・パラリンピックも、
まさに新しい未来を作るきっかけになると私は信じています。
オリンピックは平和と希望の祭典です。
オリンピックに関わる者として私は、
このことを改めて心に刻んで臨まなければならないと思います。
それが2021年の今、我々に課せられた使命であると思っています。
そして無事開催された暁には、
オリンピック、パラリンピックを開催して良かったと
一人でも多くの方に思ってもらえる大会にできるよう
力を尽くしてまいります。
全日本男子柔道チームは１月５日にオンラインで行う研修合宿議から
2021年の活動をスタートさせます。
皆様、今年も日本柔道への御声援をどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

2021 is here!
I’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to medical professionals and essential workers who have continued the battle against COVID 19 over the New Year period.
I’d also like to express my deepest condolences to those who have lost their lives to the virus and their families. My thoughts are also with those who continue to suffer from the disease.
Our lives were totally changed last year. The situation is ongoing and we are still in the midst of a battle where we are limited in the things we can do and with no clear end in sight.
I believe however, that 2021 will be the start of building a new world. People all around the globe have stood up against the hardships caused by Covid-19 and once we are through this, I’m convinced a bright future awaits us.
I also believe that the Olympics and Paralympics which were postponed due to the pandemic, will be the start of that new future.
The Olympics are a celebration of Peace and Hope. As someone involved with the Olympics, I believe it is our duty to honour that message
I am going to do everything possible to ensure the safe staging of the Games in the hope that as many people as possible are pleased that the Olympics could take place.
The Men’s National Team will begin the year on January 5th with and online training camp.
I hope very much to have your continued support for Japanese Judo this year.
