いよいよ明後日の22日、グランドスラム大阪が開幕します。
大会は24日までの3日間に渡り
丸善インテックアリーナ大阪で行われます。
今大会は東京五輪の第1次代表選考対象大会となっており、
今年の世界選手権優勝者が優勝し、
強化委員の3分の2以上が賛成した場合、代表に内定します。
男子は66kg級の丸山城志郎が対象です。
このクラスには丸山と代表の座を激しく争っている阿部一二三がおり、
丸山の代表内定を何としてでも阻止しようと準備をしているはずです。
両者ともに負けられない戦いです。
これぞ丸山、これぞ阿部、というような
両者ともに最高の柔道、最高の試合を見せてくれることを期待しています。
今大会はその他の
東京五輪代表候補クラスの選手たちにとっても非常に重要な大会です。
それぞれ万全の準備で臨み、
五輪代表を引き寄せる質の高い柔道を見せて欲しいと思っています。
Osaka Grand Slam starts on 22nd!
The long-awaited Osaka Grand Slam begins the day after tomorrow, 22nd.
The three-day competition, which runs until the 24th takes place at the Maruzen Intec Arena Osaka.
This is the first Selection competition for the Tokyo Olympics.
Representatives who win and also won at the World Championships are up for selection if they have the approval of over 2/3 of the development committee officials.
Joshiro Maruyama qualifies in the men’s 66kg category. He will be training hard to do whatever he can to protect his place and stop competition in the same category from Hifumi Abe.
This is a match neither of them can afford to lose and it could go either way.
I have high expectations of seeing top-level judo in a top-level match between them.
This is also a really important competition for athletes who are in the same class as current candidates for a place at the Tokyo Olympics.
They will be attending the competition prepared to win
