私の隣に写っているのは、ブラジルのジェラウド・ベルナルデスコーチ、
その隣がホポル・ミセンガ選手です。
先々週のグランドスラム・バクーで再会しました。
ベルナルデスコーチはブラジルで多くの選手を育て、
ブラジルを柔道大国に押し上げた名将。柔道を通した教育活動を長くしていらっしゃる方です。
ホポル選手はコンゴ民主共和国出身で、
2016年リオ五輪にＩＯＣ難民選手団の一人として出場しました。
昨年、ＮＰＯ法人柔道教育ソリダリティーと
私の活動をサポートしていただいていた井上康生後援会の支援によって、
グランドスラム大阪に出場するために来日し、このブログでもご紹介しました。
こうして再会できるのは本当に嬉しい限りです！！
東京世界選手権でもまた会えるのを楽しみにしています！！
Coach Bernades and Popole
Standing beside me is Coach Geraldo Bernades, and beside him is judo athlete Popole Misenga.
I was able to meet them again during the Baku Grand Slam the week before last.
Coach Bernades has trained a large number of Brazilian athletes
and is a great leader who made Brazil into the big judo country it is today.
He's been doing a lot of training and coaching through judo for a long time.
Popole Misenga is from the Democratic Republic of the Congo
and participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics as one of the International Olympic Committee's refugee team athletes.
I've already written about it in this blog, but last year,
with the help of the NPO Solidarity of Judo Education and my Inoue Kosei Supporters Association,
he came to Japan to compete in the Osaka Grand Slam.
I was so excited to get to see them again!!
I'm looking forward to seeing them again at the Tokyo World Championships!!
