柔道日本代表の愛称が「ゴジラジャパン」に決まり、
昨日、ゴジラと一緒に会見を開き発表させて頂きました！
ゴジラが会見に来てくれました！！
Godzilla came to the meeting!!
ゴジラはご存じの通り、日本が世界に誇る人気怪獣です。
それがなぜ愛称になったかと言いますと、
我々全日本強化チームが、筑波大と共同開発した
試合映像分析システムを内々で「GOJIRA（ゴジラ）」と
呼んでいたことがきっかけです。
システムの正式名称は
「Gold Judo Ippon Revolution Accordance」
（金・柔道・一本・革命・調和）なのですが、
この頭文字を取って呼びやすいようにしていました。
このことを報道で知ったゴジラの商標・著作権を保有されている
東宝株式会社様より、
コラボレーションのご提案をいただき、実現いたしました。
ゴジラは世界中に熱烈なファンのいることでも知られ、
その映像作品の面白さ、魅力は多くの人が知るところだと思います。
2016年に公開され、話題になった「シン・ゴジラ」も、
ゴジラの力強さが存分に表現されていたのはもちろん、
臨場感あふれるストーリーで素晴らしかったです。
精密に作り込まれた映像には、
日本の最先端のもの作りの技術が駆使されており、そうした面でも感動しました。
このような日本の素晴らしさを世界に発信、体現しているキャラクターが、
今回、柔道日本代表の愛称になったことは、
大変心強く、とても有り難く思っております。

Doing a Ippon-seoinage on Godzilla!!
Godzilla Japan!
It's been decided that the Japan Judo national team's official nickname will be Godzilla Japan,
so Godzilla joined us in a meeting to announce the news!
As you know, Godzilla is Japan's popular monster, known all around the world.
The reason that it became our nickname comes from the fact that the judo match video analyzing system that we developed together with Tsukuba University was privately known as GOJIRA (Godzilla).
The system's actual name is Gold Judo Ippon Revolution Accordance.
We took the first letters from each word to make it easier to refer to it.
When Godzilla's trademark and copyright owner,
Toho Co., Ltd. heard about this, they offered to do a collaboration with us.
I think that Godzilla is well known by many huge fans around the world,
and it's a compelling film series that's loved by many.
Godzilla: Resurgence, which was a popular topic when released in 2016,
really showed how powerful Godzilla is,
and of course the story that made you feel like you were actually in the movie was spectacular.
I was also impressed with the way that the film was made with such precision,
utilizing Japan's film creation techniques to the fullest.
I'm extremely grateful that a character that is showing the world Japan's excellence and having them experience it first-hand has become Japan Judo's national team official nickname.
