今回の応援ソング製作のきっかけは、
黒木さんと私が同じ宮崎県の出身ということで
リオ・オリンピック前の雑誌の対談でお会いしたのが始まりです。
全日本強化合宿を訪問してくださった黒木さん
黒木さんには、リオ前にも
全日本強化合宿に激励に来ていただくなど
選手たちとは以前から交流を深めていただいていました。
今回、楽曲が完成してから、
男子、女子双方の強化合宿に音源を届けていただきましたが、
選手たちがこの曲を聴いたときの顔は、
私がこれまでに見たことのないようなやわらかな、
とてもいい表情をしたので驚きました。
選手たちの心が見事に表現されていた証だと思います。
曲名のようにまさに我々の心の中にも日が昇るような感覚を覚えるのです。
ときに孤独である選手たちにとって
このような心を熱くする応戦ソングの存在は
大きな励みとなり、
2020年東京オリンピックへ向け、厳しい戦いが続く選手たちに
寄り添ってくれると思います。
これはもう、監督である私にとっては強力な助っ人を得た思いです。
本当に光栄に思っています。
我々全日本柔道チームとしては、
この楽曲、そしてEXILE THE SECONDさんのような
熱いパフォーマンスをしていけるよう、日々、進化していきたいと思います。

The idea to make a support song came up
when Keiji Kuroki was interviewing me for a magazine article before the Rio Olympics.

Keiji has been creating bonds with our athletes
by coming to events like our training camp since before the Rio Olympics.
After the song was finished, he brought it to the training camp
for both the men and women to listen to.
I’ve never seen such warm expressions on their faces as
I did after they listened to the musical piece.
I could see how their hearts were moved by their faces.
Just like the song name, it was like the sun was rising in our hearts as we listened to it.
This is especially great to warm the hearts of athletes feeling the solidarity before a match,
and I think it will be a great motivator for athletes
who have continuous fierce battles ahead of them moving towards the Tokyo Olympics.
As a director, I feel like I’ve gained a powerful tool.
I’m extremely proud of it.
As the All Japan Judo team,
we plan to improve every day to give everyone a passionate performance
just like this song and Exile the Second in their concerts.
The athletes are really excited too!
