明日から２日間に渡り、
グランドスラム東京が開催されます。
この大会は、日本で唯一開催されている
国際柔道連盟主催の大会です。
日本チームにとっては、
来年のバクー世界選手権と、
アジア大会（インドネシア）の代表選考対象大会という、
とても重要な位置づけの大会でもあります。
また、今年から、夏の世界選手権の個人戦で優勝した選手が、
グランドスラム東京でも優勝した場合、
翌年の世界選手権の代表に内定する新たな規定を設けました。
男子の場合、今年は、4選手がブダペスト世界選手権で優勝し、
そのうちの3選手が今大会に出場します。
これまでにない緊張感ある試合が見られると思いますし、
３選手だけでなく、
出場選手たちがどのような試合を見せてくれるのか、
私もとても楽しみにしています。
もちろん、監督として選手それぞれが己の力を存分に発揮できるよう、
万全の体制を整え、臨みたいと思っています。
会場は東京体育館。

ナマの迫力を味わっていただきたいと思います。

Grand Slam Tokyo Starts Tomorrow！
Starting tomorrow, Grand Slam Tokyo will be going on for two days.
This is the only competition in Japan sponsored by the International Judo Federation.
For the Japan team, this is also a very vital competition to decide their placements in the Baku Championships and the placement competition for the Asia Tournament (in Indonesia).
Also, starting this year, we've made a new rule that if an athlete who takes first in the world championships in the summer takes first again in Grand Slam Tokyo, they will represent Japan in the following year's world championships.
On the men's team this year, four athletes took first in the world championships in Budapest and three of those athletes are going to participate in this tournament.
I think we will be able to see these athletes working harder than ever before and I'm looking forward to seeing how the other athletes entering the tournament perform as well.
Of course, as their director, I will do my best to put together the best system to bring out the best in each athlete.
The competition will be held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.
For those of you who have the time, please come on down and feel the intensity up close in-person.
Of course, it will be aired on TV as well.
