世界選手権が終わって３週間がたとうとしています。
新シーズンに向け、私も動き始めています。
9月21日には警視庁千住警察署で一日署長を務めさせていただきました！
I got to work as the chief of police at the Senju branch of
the Metropolitan Police Department for a day!
今週は学外での活動も多かったのですが、
日本オリンピック委員会（ＪＯＣ）の強化本部の
選手強化常任委員会がありました。
８月にＪＯＣ選手強化常任委員に就任してから、
初めての会議への出席です。
この常任委員には私のほか、同年代では、
体操の水鳥寿思さん（日本体操協会男子強化本部長）、
スキーの皆川賢太郎さん（全日本スキー連盟競技本部長）も
就任されました。
我々に課せられた役割は、
強化現場の生の声をしっかり届けるとともに、
競技間の垣根を取り払い、連携を深めることだと理解しています。
そこでさっそく会議では、
開催まで３年を切った
2020年東京オリンピック・パラリンピックに向け、
練習会場や試合会場、
宿泊施設についての
現場サイドからの要望をお伝えし、課題を共有しました。
とくに東京都北区にある国立スポーツ科学センターと
味の素ナショナルトレーニングセンターは、
パラリンピック競技も含め、
どの競技も使用を希望するでしょうから、
その調整をどのように進めていくかといったことは大事な問題です。
一方で競技間で知恵を出し合えば、
解決できることはたくさんあると思います。
こういったことについても率直に意見を述べさせていただきました。
具体的な内容はこれから詰めていくこととなりますが、
日本のスポーツ界全体が協力しあい、
最高のかたちでオリンピック・パラリンピックを迎えることができればと
思っています。
このような会議の場に出ると、
指導現場にいるだけではわからないことを
知ることができて、脳が活性化されます！
私自身、まだまだ勉強の身ですが、日本のスポーツ界のため、
自分にできることを精一杯やっていきたいと思います。

I'm getting ready!
It has been almost 3 weeks since the World Championships ended.
I'm getting things started in preparation for the next season.
This week I've been doing a lot of things outside of the school, but I also had a meeting with the Japan National Team Standing Committee, which is the main National Team branch of the Japan Olympic Committee (JOC).
It was my first time taking part in a meeting since I was inaugurated into the standing committee in August.
Other members also inaugurated with me include Hisashi Mizutori for gymnastics ( Chief Director of the Japan Gymnastics Association Men's Team) and Ketaro Minagawa for skiing (Chief Director of the Ski Association of Japan's Competitive Men's Team).
As we understand it, the role we were entrusted with is to let the voices of our teams be heard, as well as to tear down the barrier and increase cooperation between the teams of each type of competition.
So we started right away at the meeting by discussing the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, which are now less than 3 years away, and let our requests be known regarding practice areas, competition playing fields, and accommodation facilities.
In particular, people will probably want to use the Japan Institute of Sports Sciences and Ajinomoto National Training Center in Kita-ku, Tokyo for the Paralympics as well as other events, so the way in which we coordinate everything is an important matter.
I think we can solve a lot of problems by discussing them amongst the members of each event.
I spoke my opinion quite frankly on these matters.
More concrete decisions will surely be made as we go on, but I think that the entire sporting world of Japan working together will surely bring about an amazing Olympics and Paralympics this time around.
By taking place in a meeting like this, I'm able to learn things I couldn't from just being an instructor, so it really activates my brain!
I still have a lot to learn myself, but I want to give it my all for Japan's sporting world.
