We are safely back in the States and I am already back at work.

Since both twins want to stand up holding onto us, it is just impossible when there is only one of us.

So, I thought an exersaucer would be the answer to the problem.

... And I was right!

They both loved it.

But waiting for one's turn is no fun.

Kai begged his dad to get another one.

Dad ran to the store and got another one the same day.

Now they both can enjoy his/her own saucer at the same time.

Crawling twins (Sorry, this is about 3 weeks old)

Maiya headbanging: this happens everytime she hears a music

Kai tries to fly like Superman making a fist...

Racing to the camera

Kids' fever is down, but now their noses are stuffed up :-(

We will make one last visit to the doctor's office tomorrow morning.

The twins finally ran out of the strong immune system I passed on to them and got sick for the first time.

Kai caught a cold first and had a really high fever last week. And sure enough, Maiya has got it three days later. Luckily, there is still time to recover before flying back to the States next Wednesday.

It has been a wonderful summer for the twins! (Though sad for their dad...)

They were adored and loved by everyone who came in contact with them.

They grew a lot and had learned a lot of new skills.

They also learned to eat all sort of things here.

I will try to post a few more entries from Japan if kids are doing well during the next few days.

But in case, I won't have time, thanks for reading and sending me heart-warming comments.

Raising twins is really a challenge even with helps from my parents. As they learned to crawl around, it's even getting harder. So many times, I wanted to burst into tears when things didn't go smoothly. I tried to stay positive and enjoy every moment I spent with them. I am glad that I got to be a fulltime mom for the past 3 months. I think I grew a lot with my kids. I have acquired lots of patience, too. :-)

Now going back to work would be hard for both twins and myself.

The new adventure starts soon.

Maybe I should change the title of this blog to "The Dad's Adventure with the (newly grown) Twins" or "The Twin's Adventure Continues with their Dad."

Anyway, I have to check on the kids now.

See some of you soon!

The twins are inseparable!

They can't let go of each other.

But.... often it turns into a battle-ground.

Researches show that babies under one-year-old may notice the other babies and look at him/her, but usually do not associate with each other (e.g. stealing toys, touching each other etc.). Our twins, however, do ASSOCIATE with each other.

It seems that Daddy's face is getting scary...

Anyway,

it's been really hot and humid during the day recently, so I started taking kids out for an early morning walk.

We all finish eating breakfast before 5:45am and are out the door by 6:00am.

It's nice and quiet at that time of the day.

They love these hedges :-)

They look fuzzy!

They enjoy looking at dogs that are also taking a walk around that time.

They are learning a lot about the world around them.

They can even spot some English mistakes already!

I try to be creative and remind kids of their daddy's face everytime they eat.

(July 31st: spinach with egg york, carrots and onions wtih apple sauce, rice cereal with purple sweet potato puree)

(Aug 2nd: mushed pumpkin; chicken liver with sweetpotatoes, potatoes and onions; rice cereal with carrot, apple and pinapple puree)

I just received a weekly newsletter from Baby Center Website and one of the topics was when to start feeding babies fish. It seems in the U.S., people don't feed babies fish until they are at least one and only after trying different kinds of meat. It's interesting that here in Japan, people start feeding protein in the following order: Tofu/soybeans -> white flesh fish (such as red snapper) -> chicken -> eggs -> other kinds of fish (such as tuna) -> red meat, and so on. Feeding babies fish is pretty common in Scandinavia as well.

The twins have been eating 3 times a day now and they always clean their plates :-)

Maiya's bangs are getting long. Why do her bangs grow faster than the rest of her hair???

To avoid a sweaty forehead, my mom tied a ribbon on her hair

She won't be mistaken as a boy this way :-).
