仕事が忙しくても、妹は帰ってきて泊まって、一緒に朝ごはんを食べてくれた
学生の妹は、単位取得が危なくなっても、大事な治療の時は授業より優先して付き添ってくれた
両親は美味しいご飯を作ってくれたり、病院のアポについてきてくれて、元気つけるために旅行も計画してくれた
家族や友達は治療の山を一つ越える毎に、お祝いして、次のステップに向けて励ましてくれた
私は強いと言われる
けど、本当は辛くて倒れそうになった時なんていくらでもあった
でも幸運だったのは、倒れたくても倒れる隙がないくらい、周りが支えてくれてたこと
ただ恵まれてただけだった
Even though her work was busy, my sister came home and ate breakfast with me
My student sister skipped classes to be with me for my important treatments to the point she may not have graduated
My parents fed me all my favourite food, came with me for my doctors appointment, and planned family trips to cheer me up
Every time I finished a milestone in my treatment, my family and friends congratulated me and encouraged me forward the next step
People say I’m strong to have overcome all of this in a way I managed to
But the truth is, there were so many times when I almost gave up and collapsed because it was so painful in every way
I was just blessed, that even if I tried to collapse, I had people around me support me so much that I had no option to do so
