A misty, rainy morning. The clouds hang low.
By early afternoon, the haze clears,
and the buildings emerge in sharp relief.
After work, I headed straight to Shibuya.
It was the ramen shop I’d been looking forward to for so long.
I savored every bite, and my stomach settled.
One floor up on the escalator,
a singer-songwriter was performing a live set,
so I stopped to watch for a while as a post-meal treat.
As night fell, the rain picked up again, and it felt like a downpour was coming.
Whether it’s earthquakes or typhoons, these are natural disasters beyond human control—
I just hope next week passes without incident.

Yesterday, the sky was filled with thick, billowing clouds from the morning on, and that weather lasted all day; this morning started off with rain. The rainy season has only just begun. I wonder if the two typhoons approaching this weekend might collide and dissipate.
A northerly wind has been blowing since this morning, and it feels a bit chilly in short sleeves.
This is the first time I’ve felt this cool since the rainy season began.
July is just a week away, but does that mean summer is slipping away?

It’s been two days since the Sunday of the summer solstice, and I feel like the days are gradually getting shorter. We’re still in the middle of the rainy season, and the weather remains gloomy. Even with this dreary sky, I want to keep looking forward and follow Mark and City’s example by maintaining a brisk and cheerful demeanor.

Just another ordinary day. Before I knew it, the weekend was here.

I’ve got work to do today, too, but I’m going to get through it with a smile and enjoy myself. “A smiling face brings good fortune.” Come on, me!

It rained all day yesterday, starting in the morning. The weather remained unsettled until evening—a typical rainy season sky. The forecast calls for sunshine today, so I’m feeling refreshed and ready to go higher and higher❢

Summer is definitely in the air. Although the daily temperature range is over 10°C, daytime temperatures are approaching 30°C. It’s gotten to the point where even the slightest movement during the day makes you break a sweat. Bathed in sunlight, the skyscrapers seem to shine even brighter. We’re now in the second half of June. More than half the year has passed. Day by day, I’m moving forward with a smile.

I took yesterday off, so today feels like the start of the week. Moya-san🗿, I look forward to working with you again this week🙇
The morning started with a cool breeze, but the temperature kept climbing, and before I knew it, it was a summery 28°C. This basin climate sure has extreme temperature swings. Then, come nightfall, we had a magnitude 3 earthquake—the first in a while. I can only hope the weather settles down soon.

Day two of my vacation. We met up in Okachimachi and toured the “Former Iwasaki Garden,” taking in all it had to offer. With commentary from a senior colleague, I learned all about the history of the Iwasaki family and how it led to the founding of Mitsubishi. I was amazed to find that the entire complex was built of wood, and was surprised to see features like underground passageways and flush toilets. It was astonishing to think that such amenities existed back in the Meiji era. There was even a billiards room. There’s still so much I don’t know about the world.

Day one of the weekend. I toured the site of the Namamugi Incident and various spots related to Kanagawa-juku from the late Edo period. Along the way, I took a commemorative photo with Tetsuro Degawa’s older brother at his family home. It was a day full of smiles.
