「Venus And Mars」発表後のポール＆リンダ・マッカートニー主催のクイーン・メアリー号の船上パーティーにはThe Metersが出演していた。これはその時のLIVE。

1992年にこの音源が発掘されて聴いた時は驚きました。僕のCDは国内のPヴァイン盤です。

先日Little Featの名ドラマーRichie Haywardが亡くなってしまいましたけど、
似たようなスタイルで彼に匹敵するのはこのMetersのJoseph“Zigaboo”Modelisteだけかなと咄嗟に思いました。

Richie Haywardの訃報を聞いた後、僕はThe Metersを聴いていたのです。。

The Metersのひとつの絶頂期のLive音源です。いつ聴いても凄い。
どこを切っても変わらないニュー・オーリンズ・ファンクの金太郎飴。
どの曲も痛快なのですが、6のFunkメドレーを紹介します。長いですけど。
