Crucible has updated to V1.1. Below are the details:

The SMC ROM SIMM is a new ROM SIMM that was released the other day and has already been posted here.

There are several steps to creating a ROM, and to shortcut this, we created a Mac App. called "Crucible" with OneGeekArmy

Very funny and cute artwork drawn by Drake / SMC.

First of all

Requires SMC ROM SIMM. Program the ROM on the assumption that four SST39SF040 EEPROMs will be installed.

Until now, making ROM boot disk was done by some geniuses,  but now we can make own ROM SIMM. And it's easy!

The program does not require any C language. Crucible does all the tedious and confusing stuff for you.

Features of Crucible

- A boot 1.5MB disk image can be created. These can be created by selecting blank, System6.0.7, and System7.0.1. The created ROM will be completed in the "Download" folder at your user derectly. These are simple system folder only, so they don't contain anything other than boot. This is edited using the Mini vMac emulator. Specifically, we will add software and function expansion documents so that the upper limit of 1.5MB is not exceeded.

*The video expresses making three different images by clicking them one by one. However, only one ROM can be actually connected to IIsiROM, making the total 2MB.

-Once you've created a boot disk to your liking, come back to the Crucible and merge it with the modded IIsi ROM and split it into 4. The split ROM will be in the "Download" folder(same as before). These can be flashed directly using a ROM programmer T48 or TL866IIplus.

Move the completed U1, U2, U3, U4 to Windows with a USB stick or the like.

Windows only for flushing work...disappointing!image

Flashing work uses Xgecu genuine applications and drivers. This only works on Windows. For TL866IIPlus, there is actually an application for Mac, but its use is limited. Third-party Mac apps are ports from Linux. Since this uses HomeBrew, it only supports the latest OS. Also, it does not support T48.

Xgecu, which sells the T48 and TL866IIplus, limits the compatible apps to Windows, so I think they will continue to support Windows, including firmware updates for the programmer itself. This is the only regret.

-About the modified rom of IIsi included in Crucible. Based on bbraun's modified IIsiROM, Includes: Skip the Checksum(Faster bootup), 32Bit Clean (Supports 128MB maximum memory), Supports HD20 boot from DB19 (external hard drive), Supports ROM disk boot(*Press and hold "R" key during boot your Mac) , Support OS7.5/7.6/8.1.
