Makeup Artist's Amazing Transformations,
to Mona Lisa
Phan, a petite 22-year-old Nepalese American using eye shadow,
a stippling blush brush and a healthy glob of hair gel,
she obtained not only the stubble and bone structure of
the teen heartthrob, but also the swagger.
Promise Phan does it in minutes with some lip liner and
an eye pencil.
She can also transform into Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift
or even Michael Jackson on a whim.
"I have drawn portraits ever since I was a little girl,"
Phan tells.
"Now I use makeup instead of a pencil to draw with, and
my face instead of paper to draw on."
Last week, she transformed into Mona Lisa using some
unconventional makeup approaches.
She began with an Elmer's glue stick on her brow, and used
scar wax to reshape her nose. In less than five minutes,
she was worthy of the Louvre.

New research suggests that a compound in red
wine can stop young fat cells from maturing.
If you need yet another reason to justify
your glass of red wine with dinner habit,
here it is. Researchers from Purdue University
in Indiana have found there's a compound in red
wine that prevents the growth of underdeveloped
fat cells, reports the NY Daily News.
And there's no need to feel excluded if you're
not a wine drinker, as this very same compound
is also found in passion fruit, blueberries and
of course, grapes.

National University of Singapore has "Hug Me"
scrawled across it instead of its familiar logo.
The new marketing campaign created by Ogilvy &
Mather takes gesture-based marketing — "liking"
things on Facebook is another example of the
strategy — to a new level by asking consumers
to literally hug the machine.
With a hug comes a free can of Coke.
The "Hug Me" machine is part of Coca-Cola's
"Open Happiness" campaign.
"Happiness is contagious. The Coca Cola Hug
Machine is a simple idea to spread some happiness.
Our strategy is to deliver doses of happiness
in an unexpected, innovative way to engage not
only the people present, but the audience at
large," O'Grady said.

53-year-old Joerg Daecher was driving home in his $135,000
Ferrari Testarossa when a hedgehog stepped onto the road in
front of him.
Daecher swerved his car off the road and into the nature-lovers
hall of fame.
The car slammed into a barrier, causing over $47,000 in damage.
Both the driver and hedgehog walked away unharmed.
After all, supercars and trees/guardrails seem to go together
like fish and chips.
But in the case of one German driver, his automotive sacrifice
is being commended.
