ムラカミ・ミサキ君　１６才

アラスカから連絡を受けて
彼は、とても驚いて

「津波で全てを失った、だからこのボールが
見つかったことは、とても嬉しい
お礼を言いたい。」

Boy glad football lost in tsunami found in Alaska

A teenager who lost his home in Japan's devastating
tsunami now knows that one prized possession survived
: a football that drifted all the way to Alaska.

The ball with the youngster's name inscribed on it is
one of the first pieces of debris from last year's tsunami
to wash up on the other side of the Pacific.

A man found the ball while beachcombing on an Alaskan island,
and his wife, who is Japanese, talked with its owner,
16-year-old Misaki Murakami, by phone over the weekend.
They plan to send the ball back to him soon.

Murakami, from the town of Rikuzentakata, is surprised
and thankful the football, or soccer ball, has been found
more than 5,000 kilometers (more than 3,000 miles) away.

"It was a big surprise. I've never imagined that my ball
has reached Alaska," Murakami told public broadcaster NHK.
"I've lost everything in the tsunami. So I'm delighted,"
he said. "I really want to say thank you for finding the ball."

$1 million for a penny; one of world’s rarest
coins sold at auction

One of the first pennies ever produced by the U.S.
Mint was put up for auction Thursday night and
reportedly sold for more than $1 million.

Bids for the 1792 Silver Center penny reached
$1.15 million Thursday night, according to
Heritage Auctions, which conducted the sale.

The U.S. Mint itself was founded in April, 1792.

Meet World's Fastest Man On Four Legs

It was Albert Einstein who asked a question
that he claimed sometimes drove himself hazy:
"Am I or are the others crazy?"

You wouldn't dump your computer for a typewriter,
or trade in your car for a horse, but how about
going back to walking on four legs instead of two?

A man who lives in the suburbs of Tokyo did just that,
and as a result we're sharing his crazy story.

"You know my face and body kind of looks like a monkey,
so from a young age everyone used to tease me, saying
'monkey, monkey.' But I wasn't really bothered because
I really liked them, and somewhere inside of me I had
this ambition to adopt one of their traits," Ito told.

This guy's life has literally gone to the primates.
For instance, he's walked around his neighborhood outside
Tokyo on hands and feet for the past eight-and-a-half years.

"In the streets around here I get stopped by the police,
so I went up into the mountains for about a month for a kind
of four-legged running training camp. But on the first day,
a hunter mistook me for a wild boar, and he tried to shoot me,
" Ito explained.

Usain Bolt might be the fastest man on two feet, but remember
that Kenichi Ito holds the world record as the fastest man
running 100 meters on all fours, with a time of 18.58 seconds.
