The Oriental Land Company has announced that they are considering expansion plans for Tokyo DisneySea and specifically the Port Discovery area that would be competed in the next ten years.

The above piece of Walt Disney Imagineering concept art shows Port Discovery at Tokyo DisneySea, minus the opening day attraction Aquatopia. In the rendering, the Tokyo DisneySea Electric Railway, Tokyo DisneySea Transit Steamer, and Nemo & Friends SeaRider attractions are all visible, confirming this is that port in the park.

No further details other than this image were released, so what the plans include and what is in these new buildings remains unclear. The project is currently being considered and is not approved just yet, so things could certainly change or be cancelled altogether. If it does happen, it would do so sometime before 2035.

One interesting part of the art to note is the circular turnaround area for the Transit Steamer, which may indicate that this project would seal off the waterway between Port Discovery and The American Waterfront, facilitating the need for the boat traffic to turn around when it reaches this point.
