ケニアで6月25日、増税法案に反対するデモ参加者らが議会に乱入し、警察との衝突で少なくとも23人が死亡しました。

『ジーニアス英和辞典(第5版)』には「1(怒って）勢いよく進む。2〔人に〕がみがみ言う、どなる。3あらしが吹く〈雨や風が〉荒れ狂う。4〈とりで・町など〉を急襲〔猛攻〕する)」とありました。

Etymonlineで語源を調べてみると「古英語の storm は、「天気の激しい乱れ、高い風、雨等が伴う暴風」を意味する言葉で、更に「攻撃、混乱、乱れ」などの意味もあります。これは、原始ゲルマン語の *sturmaz 「嵐」から来ており、古ノルド語の stormr、古サクソン語、中低ドイツ語、中オランダ語、オランダ語の storm、古高ドイツ語の sturm、ドイツ語の Sturm とも関連があります。」とありました。
いまの日本も増税が多く、今後被害者が出るデモが発生する可能性があるのではないでしょうか。 (Capricorn)
