一年生の入門ゼミの授業で、田邉先生と，ゲストスピーカーとして授業に招かれた4年生の先輩（２年前に英検１級とTOEIC満点をマークされた）が話していたワードやフレーズがとても勉強になりました。
折角なので、私のブログのトピックに使わせていただきたいと思います。
今回は in this day and age というフレーズについて調べていきたいと思います。授業内でも大まかに、"最近は、現在は"のような意味で、とても使い勝手の良いフレーズだとお聞きしました。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』では「 (昔ならともかく)現在［現代］では」とあります。
Cambridge Dictionary では "at the present time"と定義されています。
(usage) After all, in this day and age, at the dawn of a new century, the symphony should surely be allowed to be whatever one wants it to be.
I suppose in this day and age it is necessary to say that a marriage must consist of a man and a woman. (est)
