今回取り上げるのは theorize about ~ /θíːərὰɪz(U.S.), ˈθi:ɜ:ˌaɪz(U.K.)/ という表現です。文脈から「〜について考察する」という意味を推測しました。
LDOCE では a) 《自》 説［仮説］を立てる, 推論する theorize about something ＜…＞について説［仮説］を立てる
b) 《他》 …という説［仮説］を立てる theorize that …という説［仮説］を立てる、 …と推論するという定義がされていました。
