Dear Dr. Tanabe and Dr. Longcope,
Hope this email finds you guys well.
During the spring semeseter, I just keep shuttling back and forth between my apartment and the library on campus.
I am glad to tell you that now we're in a week-long spring break. Most of my friends are travelling around the U.S. but I decided to slow down and relax in Philadelphia.
My sponsor team has invited me to an enrichment seminar in Atlanta, Georgia from March 21 to 24. The theme of the seminar is "The Civil Right Movement in the US". I am scheduled to visit Martin Luther King Jr.'s almar mater and engage in some volunteer activities.
Here attached is an assignment for the course named "Second Language Development". The assignment has evoked lots of good old memories at Senshu. I put a quote that Dr. Tanabe game me 17 years ago for my assignment title. Hope that the title still rings your bell.
Around the time of the year always reminds me of a poem you taught me in a winter time: "When Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?"
The Cherry blossoms in Washington, D.C. are expected to bloom soon, so will be in Japan, I reckon.
Hope that the spring will bring you two many fresh flowers on a hill of Ikuta and a lot of new vibrant energy on campus.
I will write another short report after the spring semester.
