Zoomがこんなにも大活躍するとは…

記事から、on the radar /ɑn-ðə-réɪdɑɚ/ が気になりました。"radar" とは、機器のレーダーのことでしょうか。
LDOCEの定義をまずはみてみますと、"if something is on your radar, you have noticed it and are giving it some attention" とありました。
「視野に入って、注意を払って」となりますが、ここでの訳にはしっくりきません。
『ウィズダム英和辞典』には、"off the radar" が載っており、「注目されない、話題にならない」と書いてありました。
よって記事では、「こんなにも注目されるとは、重要なものになるとは思わなかった」と解釈できるかと思います。
また、過去ブログを参考にしてみますと、「近い将来重要になる、そんなこと考えてもなかった、寝耳に水」などと紹介されていました。
余談ですが、"radar" にちなんで、過去ブログでは、"under the radar" も多くアップされていました。こちらは「気づかれずに、人知れず」といった意味になり、"slip", "fly", "bubble" などの動詞を伴って用いられます。併せて覚えておきたいです。（Cheeeez）
