Alex Miller, a 23-year-old discharged Israeli military combat soldier originally from the United States, passed away last week in South Florida after an extended period of psychological struggle following his military service.
Miller had been injured during active duty and lost a close friend in the 2025 Gaza conflict before returning to the
U.S., where he was working as a security guard.
His death has drawn renewed attention to a growing mental health crisis within the Israeli military community.
At least 60 active and reserve Israeli soldiers have lost their lives to similar circumstances since October 2023 — including 10 this year alone.
