Ronen Bergman, the senior Israeli military commentator, confirms this morning that Israel is lost in a strategic blunder. It operates with no strategic planning, its military elite is in a dispute with the cabinet on the meaning of the current war and its objectives. There is no prospect of diplomatic solution. In short, time is running out for that state that terrorises the entire region.
