I will not say, "Happy New Year!"
ハッピーニューイヤーは言いません
because, we say it on August 6th
それは８月６日に言いますから
not on January 1st!
１月１日には言いません
But I want to talk deeper
より深い話をしたいと思います
that's the privilege of a prophet
それは預言者の特権です
not to talk about what is at the top, but deeper.
表面にある事ではなく もっと深い事
Everybody around the world
世界中の人が
"Happy New Year!" "Merry Christmas!"
「ハッピーニューイヤー」「メリークリスマス」と言いますが
What is that?
それは何ですか
Eh? "I wish you a happy new year, and I wish you good health."
「あなたの幸せな１年と健康を願っています」
You really believe by saying that you change something?
そのように言うことで何かが変わると本気で思ってますか
You really think that when you say to somebody
誰かに「ハッピーニューイヤー」と言えば
"Happy New Year" his year will be more happy?
その人の一年がより幸せになると思いますか
How can you have a happy, happy year?
どうやったらハッピーな年になるでしょう

By meditation!
瞑想するのです
Your happiness doesn't come from the wish of other people.
他人に願われたから幸せになるわけではありません
Eh? You can go to a hospital and there is somebody dying
病院で死にそうな人がいて
you can be 20 people saying, "I wish you good health"
20人が「あなたの健康を願ってます」とその人に言っても
he will die.
その人は死にます
You don't change anything!
何も変わりません
Happy New Year!
ハッピーニューイヤー
So, if you don't say, he's not happy?
それを言わないとその人はハッピーではないのですか
Happiness comes from inside
幸せは内側から来るものです
you know
皆さん知ってるでしょ
from yourself
あなた自身から来るのです
not from other people saying, "Happy New Year!"
誰かに「ハッピーニューイヤー」と言ってもらうからではありません
You create your happiness.
あなたが自分の幸せを作り出すのです
You create good health
健康も 自分で
by eating good food
良い食べ物を食べて
sleeping well
よく寝て
drinking water
水を飲んで
that's good health.
作り出すのです
Not because somebody says, "I wish you good health!"
「健康を願っています」と誰かに言われるからではありません
It doesn't change anything.
その言葉では何も変わりません
Wishing is what we call "magic thinking."
願い事は いわば「迷信」です
It's an old tradition.
願い事は古くから行われてきました
I remember, I was a little boy
幼い頃 私は
and we loved, at nights, looking at the sky
夜空を見上げるのが大好きでした
and when there was a shooting star
流れ星を見つけると
my grandmother said, "Make a wish"
おばあさんは「願い事をして」と言いました
and I asked her, "Why?"
私は「どうして」と尋ねました
Why?
なぜ
What is the connection between the shooting star and my wish?
流れ星と私の願いにどんな関係があるの
And my grandmother said, "There is no connection
おばあさんは言いました「関係はないけど
but if you believe
信じれば
you will be happier."
もっと幸せになるよ」
So, I said, "It's just a belief."
「ただの信仰か」と私は言いました
And my grandmother, who was very honest, said, "Yes."
とても正直なおばあさんは「そうだよ」と言いました
But it doesn't make anything good coming.
それで良い事が起こるわけではありません
"If I wish to become, when I will be adult, a very rich man
「私が大人になったら大金持ちになりたいと思って
because I see a shooting star and I wish, it will happen?"
流れ星を見て願えば本当にそうなるの」
My grandmother said, "No.
おばあさんは「ならないよ」と言いました
You will have to study
「勉強して
to work
働いて
and then you can make money."
そうやってお金を稼ぐんだよ」
So, I said, "When I look at shooting star I can just enjoy
「じゃあ流れ星を見たら ただ楽しめばいいね
but not create magic thinking!"
迷信のことは考えずに」
And thanks to my grandmother
おばあさんのおかげで
very young, I learned not to make magic thinking.
幼くして迷信を信じないことを学びました
I'm sure you have a lot of magic thinking in Japan also.
日本にもいろんな迷信があると思います
In France, people believe, believe, eh? It's belief. We don't believe, Raelians, eh?
フランスでも人は信じています ラエリアンは信じませんね
We don't believe in god
神を信じない
we don't believe in soul
霊魂も信じない
we don't believe in reincarnation.
輪廻転生も信じない

We don't believe in UFO.
UFOも信じません

We understand there are UFO.

Sometimes journalists, "You are a UFO believer." No!

What kind of belief do you have in Japan like that?
日本ではどんな迷信がありますか

Chopsticks in the rice!
ごはんに箸を突き刺す事
Eh? You believe it's bad luck.
それは縁起が悪いと日本人は信じてますね
I warn you before it happens
皆さんに前もって警告しておきます
if you invite me to your house or restaurant and bring rice
私を食事に招いて ご飯が出てきたら
immediately I will put the chopsticks in the rice.

we are belief destroyers.

I don't believe in Yahweh
私はヤーウェの存在を信じてるのではありません
I saw him.

触れることもできます

Even when you say, "I am Raelian"

it's not a belief

it's understand.

Do we believe in infinity?

We don't believe in infinity.
私たちは無限の存在を信じているわけではありません
We know it exists.
私たちは無限が存在していると知っています
We can touch it.
私たちは無限に触れることができます
We can use a big telescope and see the universe.
巨大な望遠鏡を使って宇宙を見ることもできます
We can use a microscope
顕微鏡を使って
and see infinitely small.
無限小を見ることもできます
We don't believe.
ただ信じているのではありません
It's a fact.
事実なのです
Infinity is everywhere
無限はあらゆる所にあります
doesn't believe, eh!
信じることは
So easy to fall in belief and magic thinking.
信仰や迷信に陥ることはとても簡単です
Raelians
ラエリアンも
like everybody
皆と同じ
we age
年を取り
and we die.
死んでいきます
I will also.
私もです
But this is a fact.
でもこれは事実です
It's just a fact.
ただの事実です
Don't connect that with any belief.
それをどんな信仰にも結び付けないでください
Any belief makes your brain weaker.
どんな信仰もあなたの脳を弱くします
When you believe
信じていると
you stop using consciousness
意識を使うことを止めてしまいます
you stop using supraconsciousness.
超意識を使うことを止めてしまいます
So, people say sometimes, "Do you believe in meditation?"
時々人は言います「瞑想を信じていますか」
No.
いいえ
I don't believe in meditation
瞑想を信じていません
I do it.
私は瞑想をするのです
You don't believe
信じるのではなく
you do it.
実践するのです
"Do you believe in sleeping?"
「あなたは睡眠を信じていますか」
Nobody will ask that.
なんて誰も尋ねません
You just sleep
あなたはただ眠るだけです
naturally.
自然に
Like the Dalai Lama said
ダライラマが言いました
"Sleeping is the easiest form of meditation"
「睡眠は瞑想の最も簡単な形です」
most simple example of meditation.
瞑想の最も簡単なやり方です
When you sleep
眠っている時は
you stop thinking.
考えることを止めています
Eh? Meditation, you say, "Ah, it's difficult to stop thinking.
瞑想の時「考えを止めるのが難しい」と人は言いますね
I cannot stop my brain, always thinking."
「脳を止められない いつも考えてる」
No
そんなことはありません
when you sleep.
眠っている時は考えてません
And that's why many people have insomnia
多くの人が不眠症になります
because they cannot stop thinking
考えを止められないからです
thinking about the past
過去のことを考え
thinking about the future
未来のことを考え
and they cannot sleep.
眠ることができません
When, only when the brain stops thinking
脳が考えるのを止めた時に
you start sleeping.
やっと眠り始めます
Everybody can do it.
誰でもできることです
But when Maitreya is here teaching
でもマイトレーヤがここで教えていて
"Lie down and stop thinking," people think, "I cannot!"
「横たわって考えを止めましょう」と言うと「できない」と人は考えます

when I ask all the Raelians to lie down
ラエリアンの皆さんに横になって
breath deeply
深呼吸をして
feeling their body very heavy
体がとても重くなるのを感じて と言うと
many people, "Zzzz"
多くの人がいびきをかき始めます
they start sleeping
眠ってしまいます
because meditation and sleeping is very similar.
瞑想と睡眠は非常に似ているからです
And that's the art of meditation
瞑想の技とは
to go in the sleeping state
眠る状態に入りながら
without sleeping
眠りに落ちないでいる
just before.
落ちる手前に留まることです
Buddhist people say, "To be on the razor blade."
仏教徒は言います「かみそりの刃の上に乗ってる状態」
Like you walk on a razor
カミソリの上を歩くように
or sword eh? Samurai sword blade
侍の刀の刃の上を歩くように
and you have to keep your balance.
そこでバランスを保つ必要があります
if you fall right side, "Zzzz"
右側に落ちると眠ってしまい
left side
左側に落ちると
you continue thinking.
考えが続きます
It's very interesting
非常に興味深いです

It's not a belief.
信仰ではありません
Maitreya says, "I don't believe in UFO"
マイトレーヤは言います「私はUFOを信じません」
"I don't believe in meditation"
「私は瞑想を信じません」
"I don't believe in infinity" eh? That's Maitreya.
「私は無限を信じません」それがマイトレーヤです
But many Raelians say, "I believe in UFO"
でもラエリアンの多くは言います「私はUFOを信じます」
"I believe in meditation"
「私は瞑想を信じます」
"I believe in infinity."
「私は無限を信じます」
No beliefs
信じるのではなく
just
ただ
just understand!
ただ理解するのです
Meditation
瞑想は
if you understand what is happening in your brain
脳で何が起こっているかを理解すれば
you can meditate.
瞑想できます
No thinking
何も考えず
no sleeping
眠らず
just between.
その中間にいるだけです
So, I think it's very important
ですから非常に重要なんです

私たちラエリアンが
how different we, the Raelians, we are.
どれほど変わった人たちなのかと感じること
Don't fall in it.
流されないでください
Don't become like everybody.
皆と同じようにならないでください

Everybody says, "Happy New Year!"
皆 言います「ハッピーニューイヤー」
And we naturally, because polite
そして礼儀正しい私たちは自然に
we want to say, "Happy New Year to you also."

Difficult, eh? not to answer.
返事をしないのは難しいですね
So, when you will go back to Naha, or in normal life
那覇に戻っていつもの生活に戻って
when you meet people and they say, "Happy New Year."
人に会って「ハッピーニューイヤー」と言われたら
What will you answer?
何と答えますか
Interesting, eh?
興味深いですね
If somebody says to me, "Happy New Year"
誰かが私に「ハッピーニューイヤー」と言ったら
I don't want to be happy only one year.
私は１年だけ幸せでいたいわけではないので
"Be happy forever!"
「ずっとハッピーでいましょう」と言うでしょう
But, by wishing you to be happy forever
でも ずっと幸せで と私が願っても
I will not make you happy.
それであなたが幸せになるわけではありません
That's interesting.
興味深いです
But you can be happy forever.
でも ずっと幸せでいることはできます
How?

By yourself.
自分の力で
My wish will not change your happiness at all.
私の願いは あなたの幸せに影響を与えません
That's powerful.

Ah! It's difficult for Japanese, I think.
日本人には難しいと思います
"Good morning!"
「おはよう（良い朝ですね）」
"Good morning", I don't know if your morning is good
「おはよう（良い朝ですね）」あなたが良い朝を迎えたかは分かりません
but what I say doesn't make morning good.
私の言葉で相手の朝が良くなるわけでもありません
You have a good morning from yourself.
自分で良い朝を迎えるのです
What is the meaning exactly of "Ohayo gozaimasu? (Good morning).
日本語の「おはようございます」はどういう意味ですか

Early morning? That's good.

That's good
それは良いです
"early morning."

You know, the wish, the magic thinking of the wish
願い事というのがあります
"I wish it will be a sunny day."
「どうか晴れますように」
You think your wish will affect the weather?
あなたの願いが天気に影響を与えると思いますか
Not at all.
まったくです
It's a... The meteorology, the science of the weather
気象学は
has no connection with your wish.
あなたの願いと何の関係もありません

I know why I am in Japan, every day is beautiful.

I cannot say, "Good morning"
あなたの朝がどんなか分からないのに
if I don't know what is your morning.
「良い朝ですね」とは言えません
Maybe you couldn't sleep all night
もしかしたら眠れなかったかもしれません
maybe this morning you had a terrible diarrhea.
もしかしたら今朝 酷い下痢だったかも
Good morning, I don't know.
良い朝かは分かりません
I can ask a question
質問することはできます
"Are you having a good morning?"
「良い朝を過ごしてますか」
That's beautiful.
それは素晴らしいです
But it doesn't come from me
でもそれは私から来るのではなく
it comes from you
あなた自身から来ます
how you slept
眠りはどうだったか
if you had a good breakfast.
美味しい朝ご飯を食べたか
That's you! You are responsible for what's happening.
あなた自身があなたに起こっている事に責任を持ちます
And anybody can wish anything
誰でも何でも願うことはできますが
it doesn't change anything.
それで何かが変わるわけではありません
And that's the beauty of the teaching of Elohim
それがエロヒムの教えの素晴らしさです
you are in charge of your happiness.
あなたは自分の幸せの責任者です
And everybody around you can wish you terrible things, or good things, it doesn't change anything
誰もがあなたに酷い事でも良い事でも願うことはできますが それで何かが変わるわけではありません
it has no influence on your wellbeing.
あなたの幸せに影響はありません
You are in charge.
あなたが責任者です
You don't...

in front of many gods.
色んなの神の前で頭を下げます
I remind you, everybody, eh? Very important: Elohim are not gods.
皆さんに言っておきます とても重要です エロヒムは神ではありません
Many people, Raelians, "Ok, I don't believe in God but I believe in Elohim."
ラエリアンの多くは言います「神は信じていないけど エロヒムは信じてる」
Don't believe in Elohim.

Understand! They are there.
理解してください 彼らはあそこにいます

We don't know because the planet is moving, turning. So, we say, always people, "Oh! Elohim!" No. Me, sometimes, "Elohim..."

Where? I don't know where they are

we can never know
知ることはできません
and that's beautiful!

If there is a place, a location we would pray in front of this location.

Like Muslim people

they pray in front of Mecca.

as I said, we all die.
前にも言いましたが 私たちは皆 死にます
Me too.
私も死にます
And
そして
when we die
私たちの誰かが死ぬと
I see many posts in Facebook, they wish, "Good return to infinity."
「無限へ還る良い旅を」と多くの人がフェイスブックに書きます
When you die you don't go back to infinity.
死んだ時に無限に還るわけではありません
We cannot go back to infinity
無限に還ることはできません
because we are now!
だって私たちは 今 無限なのですから
Dead or alive, we are in infinity.
死んでいようが生きていようが 私たちは無限の中に存在しています
This is a kind of magic thinking.
これはある種の迷信です
It means, "Ah, we are alive on Earth, so we are not really in infinity.
「私たちは地球に生きているから無限の中にいるわけではない
But when we die, yes, we go back to infinity!"
でも死んだら無限に戻るのだ」
You are, right now, in infinity.
あなたは今 無限の中にいるのです
And the beauty of meditation is to make you feel this infinity.
瞑想の素晴らしいところは この無限を感じさせてくれるところです
Recently somebody very intelligent
最近とても知性的な人が私に尋ねました
asked me, "What is more important, feeling or believing?"
「感じることと信じることでは どちらがより重要ですか」
"Do you have to understand, to feel?"
「感じるためには理解する必要がありますか」
It's together.
それは一緒のことですが
But understanding is more important.
理解することの方がより重要です
Can I feel without understanding?
理解せずに感じることはできますか
"Oh yes, I can feel that the Earth is flat."
「地球は平らだと感じることができる」
"I can feel that there is a god sitting on the clouds."
「雲の上で神様が座っていると感じることができる」
That's not true.
それは本当ではありません
So, when you understand
理解すると
then you can feel the truth.
その真実を感じることができます
We know that the Earth is not flat.
私たちは地球が平らではないと知っています
There was a very beautiful joke on Facebook:
フェイスブックにとても素敵なジョークがありました
Somebody said, "I can prove that the Earth is not flat."
誰かが「地球は平らではないと証明できるよ」
"Why?"
「なぜ」
"Because if it was flat, all the cats would push everything down."
「もし地球が平らならネコは皆 物を全部下に落としているでしょう」
You know the cats, they love to push down everything which is on a table.
ネコはテーブルにある物を全部落とすのが大好きです
So, they would to the same on the Earth.
だから地球でも同じことをするでしょう
You can push things, they don't fall because the Earth is round.
物を押してもそれが落ちないのは地球が丸いからです
I love cats.
私はネコが大好きです
Cat is my favorite animal.
私の一番好きな動物です
It never barks
吠えないし
you can have meditation
ネコを隣において
the cat is sitting beside you
瞑想することもできます
and meditate with you.
ネコと一緒に
With dogs...
犬と一緒だったらすぐ吠えるので
No.
できません
So, I love cats, I don't like dogs.
だから私はネコが好きで犬は好きではないです
I like dogs from afar
遠くから眺めてるぶんには良いです
but not in my house
家の中には入れたくないです
because I want to be able to do meditation
私は静けさの中で
in silence.
瞑想がしたいですから
We meditate together with my cat.
私たちは私のネコと一緒に瞑想しています
I do, sometimes I do "Aom"
時々「アオム」の瞑想もします
and he does, "Rrrrrrrr."
ネコも一緒に「グルルルル」
Beautiful, it's beautiful!
美しいです
Cats meditation is, "Rrrrrrrrr"
ネコの瞑想は「グルルルル」
"Guru guru?" (Purr purr). Ah, so cute!
「グルグル」とてもかわいい
So, early morning, no, now it's daytime. Konnichiwa?
早い朝 いいえ今は昼間ですね 「こんにちは」
What do you say, today? Today!
今日ですね
And now? [Ima] "Ima" (now) better.
「今」のほうが良いですね
I love Naoko.
私「ナオコ」が大好きです
And where is Naoko? Ah, Naoko! I love your real name.
どこにいますか 私はあなたの本名が大好きです
We are all children of now.
私たちは皆 今の子どもたちです
"Now-ko" (now-child).

Not "Ashita-ko" (tomorrow child).
