Amanirenas was queen regnant of the Kingdom of Kush from the late 1st century BC to the early 1st century AD.
She is known for stopping Roman expansion in Kush in present-day Sudan.
Amanirenas led an army of around 30,000 Nubian soldiers, armed with swords, bows and arrows, to fight the Romans in Egypt.
