Learning English is really tough...
In my case, problems are super Shakespeare expression and Japanglish...LOL
There are two sentences which I posted to my blog the other day.
(1) The day before yesterday, it was like a snow country around here.
My Shakespeare expression appeared...
Native English speakers never say "snow country" ... Skakespeare or only poetry.
So → It's really snowy. It's like Siberia here! (how natural...)
(2) My friend asked me to have a good time together at a nice wine bar after work cause I didn't need to drive.
Let's see, there are dangerous expressions. (>_<)
At first, "My friend" is tooooo personal, sounds like "ONLY my friend"
So → A friend of mine"...is natural.
Then next, be carefull using "have a good time".
If you use it past tense, no problem.
BUT when you use it present tense...including sexual meaningl.
When a man is walking down the street at night, a sexual woman might come up on him and ask "how about having a good time?"
See?
Have to be carefull.
So → A friend of mine wanted to have a nice evening at a nice wine bar (yes, natural...)
I reminded that I wrote same kind of expression to my facebook wall..oh how can I do?...LOL
Practice makes perfect!!!
