My teacher left for the States.
So I'll be lazy at studying English for almost 1 month!?
NO, NEVER!!!
I'll study much harder OF COURSE!!!
I would keep posting some in English cause he said he'll check my blog in the States.
Ummm....
doubtfull...
I bet 1000 yen that he won't check it out...HAHA
Anyway, this is the revision of "English lesson vol.1"
Learning English is really tough...
In my case, problems are super Shakespeare expressions and Japanglish...LOL
There are two sentences which I posted to my blog the other day.
(1) The day before yesterday, it was like a snow country around here.
Shakespeare expression!
Native English speakers never say "snow country" ... someone like Shkakespeare or only poetry would do that.
So → It's really snowy. It's like Siberia here! (how natural...)
(2) My friend asked me to have a good time together at a nice wine bar after work cause I didn't need to drive.
Let's see, those are some dangerous expressions there. (>_<)
At first, "My friend" is tooooo personal, sounds like "ONLY my friend"
So → A friend of mine"...is natural.
Then next, be careful using "have a good time".
If you use it in the past tense, no problem.
BUT when you use it in the present tense, it could have a sexual meaningl.
When a man is walking down the street at night, a prostitute might come up to him and ask "how about having a good time?"
The woman said "have a good time..." as her business.
That business is an illegal in the States.
So she say indirectly. Of course everbody know what will happen.
Right word is "prostitute" not a "sexual woman" cause there are lot of sexual women actually...
See?
Have to be careful.
So → A friend of mine wanted to have a nice evening at a wine bar (yes, natural...)
I was reminded that I wrote the same kind of expression on my facebook wall..oh what should I do?...LOL
Practice makes perfect!!!
