ハワイ最終章　お土産編

旅行の楽しみの一つ、というか一番楽しみなお土産選び。メイシーズはハワイに６店舗あるが、いつのまにかそのうち５店舗行ってた。（あえていったわけでなく、行ったところにたまたまあった。）デパートめぐりをしたといえば買い物中毒のように聞こえるが、日本の江戸末期創業のメイシーズ。長い歴史を持つ企業の建築物訪問といえばなんだか知的。
買ってよかったと思うものリスト。
ほとんど、定番だけど、ホノルルクッキーカンパニーのクッキー、マカデミアンナッツ、ノースショアのコーヒーギャラリーのコーヒー、スタバのコーヒー(ばらまきお土産に最適)、wholes marketのエコバッグ（日本人がたくさん買いあさってた。）またアメリカブランド（コーチ、ケイトスペード、ナインウェスト、ポロ、カルバンクラインなどなど。）はセールの時に行くとかなりお得！特に愛用家ではないが、金額から買わなきゃもったいないという気持ちが滞在期間と共に増していき、弱みを知ってか定員さんも日本の半額以下をかなりアピール。「半額以下です。」何度も言っているのか非言語の人からしたら言いにくいこの言葉も妙に滑舌がいい。
そしていつのまにか私の手元に・・・お得に弱い関西人代表。

One of my pleasure of the trip, or rather I should say, is choosing souvenir. Macy’s are 6 stores in Hawaii but
I visited the 5 stores of them before I knew it. ( I didn’t visit there very consciously but it just happened that way.) It sounds like a kinda shopaholic but Macy’s established in 1951, just at the end of Edo period in Japan. It `s kind of intellectual when I say that I have visited at buildings which have a long history.
Here are good buy souvenirs list.

ハワイ搭乗

搭乗。しまった！通路側の席リクエストするのをすっかり　忘れて窓側席に。８時間のフライトを窓側席で閉じ込められるなんてかなり苦痛。慌てて、ボスっぽいＣＡさんに、トイレ体質なので（どんな体質だ）窓側にかえてくださいというと、トイレのすぐ後ろの４名席の通路側にレベルアッアップ。しかも横３名が空席でかなり快適。
エコノミー席で非常口のところの広めの席と、トイレの前の席は私の中では、上段エコノミー席と呼んでいる。まことにマハロ。いつかはビジネスクラスに乗れますようにとお祈りしつつ移動・・・。写真は機内食。おそめのランチがはじめに出てきて、着陸２時間くらい前にでてきて朝ごはん？日本時間でいうと１７時ごろ食べた気が。食事をしながら最後までハワイを感じるためドラマのハワイfive-o を見ることに。

I got on board. OMG! I totally forgot to request an aisle seat and sat in the window one.
It’s so horrible to be stuck in the window seat for 8 hours. I rushed to ask one of bossish CA to change my seat to an aisle one for my toilet constitution (What kinda of constitution is it!?) , She gave me an aisle seat with the 4 seats. I boosted my seats to the next level. What is more, next three seats were vacant , so quite comfortable!
I call these seats having wide space near the emergency exit and restrooms high-level economy. Totally thanks. I moved to my new seats wishing to get a business class in the future. These pics are in-flight meal.　They served late-lunch and then breakfast in two hours before the landing. I think that I had breakfast around 5 p.m… Having meal , I decided to watch Hawai-five-o drama to feel Hawai.

ハワイ帰国日

帰国前日夜。このワイキキの素敵な夜景もしばしお別れ。そう思うと切なくなり、バルコニーで夜景を見ながら
朝まで寝ようと家族の反対を押し切って試みるが、風が強すぎで断念。翌朝、フライトまで時間があるので午前中近くのRossに行き余ったドルを安い服で使い切る。ノーブランドからアメリカブランドがものすごく安く売っててかなりお得。ワンピースと帽子、車用のサンバイザーをゲット。サンバイザーはスーツケースに入れると潰れそうなのでなんだかへんな恰好だが装着して空港へ。父母はもう一週間滞在するので１人帰国。どっか外出したらしく、見送りなし。ドライな家族だ。
頂いたフリーチケットを空港のスタバで使わなきゃと思いだし（日本じゃ使えない）、製品はなんでもＯＫとのことなので普段は絶対たのまないホワイトチョコモカをオーダー。遠慮してトールにしたら、なんでもいけるんだから、一番大きいベンティにしたらとスタッフさんに勧められるままオーダー。大きすぎるがこれぞアメリカサイズという感じで一つのいい思い出。飛行機マニアの友達のために最後写真を撮りまくったあと、先ほど買った楽ちんワンピに着替える。ハワイで感覚が麻痺したかも、日本じゃちょっと派手すぎな色合いかも。まあいいか。寝れたらいい。
In the return date eve. It’s Good bye to enjoy the Waikiki night view. Feeling a little bit lonely, I tried to sleep in the balcony to go against the opposition of my parents, but it was too windy to do that. In the next morning, having time until my flight schedule, I used up the bucks that was left in the Ross near the condo.From off-brand to brand, we can get them very reasonable and cheap price. I got some dresses , a hat,and a sun visor. Preventing a sun visor from being crushed to a pulp in my suitcase, I put on a sun visor in spite of feeling kinda strange style and went to the airport. My parents are gonna spend here one another week , so left by myself. They went out somewhere , not seeing me off. They are so straightforward people.
I remembered to use a free drink ticket that I got it ( I cannot use it in Japan) . I can order whatever I want ,so I ordered a white chocolate moka which I never normally order . I hesitate to order to a large size, so chose a tall size , the staff said that you should order the biggest size; venti to be at the staff feet. It was so huge for me, but it was the America size, so kinda good memory . After going on taking pics for my friend who is an airplane geek, I changed into a comfortable outfit which I got earlier. I might had been anesthetic in Hawai,?? This dress may be a blightly-colored in Japan? Oh,I didn’t care. Sleeping is necessary.

インドカレー

今日のランチは近所のインドカレー屋さんで。インドカレー最近増えた気がする。ところで２０２６年にはインド人人口が中国人人口を追い越すといわれてるらしい。カレー密度も増えるのかな。インド、暑そうだけど、一回は行ってみたい。I had lunch at the Indian curry near my house.I think the number of Indian restaurants are growing . BTW, it says that the popouration of Indian will be more than Chinese ones. Iam wondering if people who eat curry will grow. India seems to be hot ,but I wanna go there just one time.

ハワイモンキーポット

子供の頃よく見た日立のＣＭで流れていた「このー木なんの木～」の木。モンキーポット。
本当大きな木で、まるでハワイの暑い日差しから人々を守るよう、多くの日蔭を作るために成長してくれるようにも感じる。町中あらゆる場所で見かけた。
日本でも栽培キットが売ってるらしい。日本の暑さもモンキーポッドがたくさん育成されれば日蔭がたくさんできて涼しくなるかも。

When I was a little kid, I had often seen a Monkey pod in the commercial
They are huge trees and I feel something as if they are growing to protect our body against the hot summer sun. I had seen them all over the town.
There is supposed to be a kit for Monkey pod in Japan .If Monkey pod is brought the plant into cultivation here in Japan, it will be cooler because of the shades.

ハワイレナーズでマラサダを頂く

アラモアナホテルのロイヤルガーデンで食事。名前からハワイアンな食事のイメージをして胃もそれに備えて準備をしていたが、中華料理やった。その食後に老舗ベーカリーレナーズへ移動しでマラサダをいただく。中華の後に揚げパンはこたえるがスケジュール上タイトに食べなきゃいけないので無理やり！？押し込む。笑　この日もマラサダを求め行列が。日本では横浜にあるみたい。1950年代にポルトガル移民の子孫がオープンした老舗ベーカリー。素朴で誰からも愛される味。私よりも歴史があるレナーズ。長く続くには理由がある。マラサダを頬張りながら我が人生を振り返る。（大げさ）

I had a dinner at Royal Hawaiian restaurant in Ala Moana Hotel . I thought it was a Hawaiian styled restaurant expecting from the name of it , but it is was Chinese one. After dinner, we drove to a traditional bakery called Leanard’s to get it. After eating Chinese food ,I felt sick to my stomach but with my Hawaii schedule, I forced myself to eat it. www . There was a long line for it in that day. They say there is a Leanard’s in Yokohama,Japan. In the 50’s . Lenard’s was a bakery opened by one of the Portuguese’s offspring, 　Marasada is a simple taste everyone love it. Lenard’s has a longer history I. It has a genuine reason to run for a long time. I looked back at my life eating a Marasada.

ハワイのスタバも素晴らしい

大好きなスターバックス。コレクターではないが、今唯一集めているもの、スターバックスカード。ハワイ版も新しいの見つけるたびに購入していたら計６枚に。（結局全額使いきれず帰国）ハワイでは５ドルのチャージから購入可能。ハワイのスタバの接客もまた素晴らしかった。ワイキキのスタバでは、店員さんがレジをミスってお待たせしたからといって無料で飲める飲めるチケット２枚くれた。（そんな幻のチケットがあることに驚き）。またクヒョウ通りの別のスタバでは、ソイラテ頼んで甘かったから砂糖はなしにしてといったら、ハワイのは豆乳自体に砂糖が入ってるのよ、と。ほかのに変えましょうか？と入れ替えてくれました。　そんなスタバで私がいつも使うお気に入りの言葉！？　プラダを来た悪魔でアンハサウェイがスタバコーヒーを頼むときに言った"Make room for milk" ミルク入れるためのスペース作ってね。　スタバではコーヒーを満タンにいれてくれるので、ミルク追加する派にはミルクの入る余地がない。なんだかこなれた感のあるこの英語フレーズ、Make room for milk. これを
言うため注文はたいていレギュラーコーヒー。
I am crazy with Starbucks. I am not a true collector,but the only thing I am collecting now is Starbucks Cards. Every time I found a new version card and got them , they came to a grand total of 6 !! ( But I hadn't used them after all until my return date.) Starbucks cards are available for purchase from the minumum 5 dollars in Hawai.) Service in Hawai was also amazing! Starbucks staff in Waikiki gave me two free drink tickets because they made me wait for a while abuot the register problem. (Amazing! I have never known about the wonderful cards!) Another Starbucks on Kuhyo street, I orderd a cup of soy latte ,but it was sweetened one , so I asked them unsugared one, but the sttaff said the soy in Hawai is sugar-sweetened product, so if you would like a no sugar, I will give another drink. That' s why I am a big

fan of Starbucks.
My favorite line using in Starbucks is " Make room for milk " which was used by Anne Hathaway in the movie of the Devil wears PRADA " Starbucks coffee are always filled them up , so for the milk persn cannot have a space for it .
It is a kinda native phrase "Make room for milk" , just to use this line, I always order a regular coffee.
