Be-Bop

Hi, there!
How was your day?
Thank you for your likes and comments.

My friend is studying jazz abroad in New Orleans right now and it looks like so much fun! She's a saxophone player.

She sends me videos of her sessions with other members, it looks like so much fun! I'm so jealous!

I did a session by my self the other day. I got into the studio early before we had a rehearsal, so I set up the keyboard, my electronic violin, played “Isn't She Lovely” backing track from my phone, and I switched back and forth between piano
and violin solos, it was so much fun!

I want to do another session like that 😭

On the train on the way home...
I found an old essay on my cell phone about “bebop” that I wrote when I was in the 10th grade and it made me want to relearn jazz all over again!

At that time, I was also dabbling in ethnomusicology history and writing about how that and contemporary music are connected as a hobby, and I couldn't help but laugh when I read over my old writings.

I laughed because my thoughts at the time were so interesting! I was like, why did I connect with this??

But then, I started to get scared because I thought there is still so much I don't know.

And I'm sure music will continue so.....

The art of music is GOATED!!!!

I fell like listening to Be-Bop
