Crosby, Stills & Nash / Allies (1983)
1983年にリリースされた、スタジオ録音の新曲2曲とライヴ音源をコンパイルした変則アルバム。たぶん新曲の2曲は前作『Daylight Again』の流れでスティルスとナッシュでまとめられたもの。ライヴ音源は、1982年の『Daylight Again』ツアーからセレクトしてあるけど、この時クロスビーはドラッグ禍にあり精彩を欠いているので、クロスビーのリード・ヴォーカル曲「Shadow Captain」と「He Played Real Good for Free」は、1977年のライヴ・テイクが使われている。苦肉の策だったのかもしれないけど、年代的に中途半端なアルバムになってしまった感があるのが残念。そんな中、ラストのスティルスのリード曲はバッファロー・スプリングフィールド時代の代表曲「For What It's Worth」のCS＆Nヴァージョンは嬉しい！
