ICC(本部はオランダのハーグ)の赤根智子所長がアメリカとロシアから同時に制裁対象になったとして話題になっている。
クレジットカードも使えなくなったとの事だが、日本としては早期に退職させ制裁対象のまま身柄保護を含めて外務政務官か法務政務官に採用すべきだと思う。
プーチンとトランプはあと3年持たないので、3年後まで赤根氏がICC所長のまま生きていられると考えるのは甘い見通しだと思う。
Tomoko Akane, Director of the ICC (headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands), has become a topic of discussion after being placed on sanctions lists by both the United States and Russia simultaneously.
It is reported that she can no longer use credit cards, but from Japan’s perspective, I believe she should be forced to retire early and, while remaining subject to sanctions—including protective custody—be appointed as a Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs or a Parliamentary Secretary for Justice.
Putin and Trump won’t last another three years, so I think it’s overly optimistic to assume that Ms. Akane will remain ICC Director and even survive until then.
