2018年の2月にあった平昌オリンピックの試合速報を夕方くらいに聞きました。
私もちょうど試合の日で、決勝に向かうバスの中でニュースを知って「ああ、こんなにケガをしても金メダルをとって、こんなに努力をしている人がいて、ちゃんと目標や夢をかなえている人がいるのだから、私にも絶対できるはずだ!」と思って、その日の夜のレースで日本記録を出すことができたんです。
そのときの気持ちっていうのは多分これからも忘れないと思いますし、アスリートとして影響を与えてもらったアスリートというのは、自分の心の中に残り続けるものなのかなと思っています。

もしかしたらダメかもしれないという気持ちが強く出てしまうんじゃないかな。
羽生さんが当時不安っていうものを抱えてらっしゃったのかはわからないですけど、それでもちゃんと勝つところがやっぱりスゴいなって思います。
そもそもオリンピックを2連覇すること自体がとんでもないことなので、もう本当に尊敬の言葉しかないですね。
I know it would be terribly tough mentally when you had a serious injury three months before (an important competition).

I have no idea whether Hanyu-san had any anxiety at that time, but I think it was amazing that being in such a situation he managed to win.
