去年の今日、結弦君のフリーの前に投下されたスポニチさんの記事。

SPの冒頭で天文学的確率の不運に見舞われながら、最後まで集中力を切らさずに滑りきった羽生には感動した。4回転サルコーが0点になっても95.15点を積み上げられる技術力と演技力。改めて、フィギュアスケートがただのジャンプ大会ではないことを教えてもらうことができた。 （中略）
We were deeply impressed by Hanyu who showcased the performance, although being hit by astronomical misfortune at the beginning of his SP, kept his concentration till the end. The ability of quality skills and expression, with which 95.15 points can be accumulated even getting “0” point with the quad-Salchow. He reminded us once again that Figure Skating is more than just a jumping competition.
下げ採点の中で、ジャンプ1本失っても95.15点。改めて思い出してみると、本当にこれも驚異的なこと。そして、メディアも知っていた、フィギュアスケートはジャンプ大会じゃないってことを。（なのに・・・）
As it mentioned, it’s really awesome, missing one jump, also, even getting unfairly low evaluation, achieving 95.15, yes, amazing. And not only us but media too know that Figure Skating is not a jumping competition. . . .
氷上で選手が演じているのは一つの物語で、そのストーリーに沿ってジャンプやスピンが組み込まれている。ドラマなら必ずクライマックスまでにさまざまな伏線が用意されるが、フィギュアスケートではそれが「つなぎ」に当たる。盛り上げるためには音楽が欠かせないし、ドラマと同じで曲と主人公の演技がマッチしているかどうかは当然、重要な要素の一つとなる。つまりフィギュアスケートは「音楽」と「つなぎ」があって初めて成立する競技であって、2要素がなくなればもはやこの競技は存在意義を失ってしまう。
A performance on the ice is a story, in which according to the story, jumps and spins are added. In dramas, there shall be various foreshadowing is always prepared for its climax, in case of Figure Skating, “transition” moves would be the foreshadowing of a drama. To liven up the performance, music is essential, as like a drama, whether or not the music matches the main character’s action is, of course one of the important factors. Thus, Figure Skating is a sport that can only be established with “music” and “transitions”, if without these two elements, the sprot would lose its Raison D’etre.
その肝心かなめのフィギュアスケートの「レゾン・デートル」（存在意義）をなくしてしまった今のあちら界隈、いったい何を目指しているんだろ？
この定義からも、「羽生結弦」のフィギュアスケートこそが、真のフィギュアスケートであって、もはやあちら界隈は全く別な世界に迷走している状態。
そんな迷走に真実を求めるファンはついて行くことはない。
Now, so-called figure skating which is let by that organisation is totally losing “Raison D’etre”, where are they going now?
Figure Skating which keeps its “Raison D’etre” is only it of Hanyu Yuzuru.
People who want to watch genuine Figure Skating can’t follow the party which is losing the “Raison D’etre.”
フリーで羽生が目指しているのはただ4回転半ジャンプを成功させることではなく、前人未到の大技を組み込んだ究極のプログラムを細部まで完璧に滑りきり、見ている人々に感謝の気持ちを伝えることだろう。それはそのままフィギュアスケートの本当の姿を世界に示すことにもつながる。
What Hanyu is aiming at for his Free is not just to succeed to land the quad-half jump, but to deliver his gratitude to the audience by performing the ultimate programme being incorporated the unprecedented feat. His performance will also let people all over the world to witness what Figure Skating really is.
羽生がリンクの上にいるというだけで多くの人が幸せを感じ、明日への活力をもらえる。そんな選手は他にいないし、たぶんこれからも現れないだろう。もはや勝敗は関係ない。余計なことは何も考えず、さあ、新たな伝説となるフリーの演技を堪能しよう。
When Hanyu is on the ice, just being there, people can feel happiness and can be encouraged. No there athlete can be like him, and we may not have such an athlete anymore in the future. Win or lose doesn’t matter anymore. No need to think much, but let’s enjoy his Free performance which shall be a new legend.
改めてこの記事を読むと、やっぱりあの北京があって今の「羽生結弦」に繋がっていると感じる。オリンピック、確かにアスリートとして勝ちに行くところだっただろう、でも、同時に真の「レゾン」存在意義を確信した場所だったのかもしれない。
同時に、あの4A挑戦の直前にこの記事をあげてくれたスポニチさんに今更ながら改めて感謝しているサラです。
