春を告げるお花、スイセン。
すっかりニホンズイセンは季節が終わっているね。
今日は、咲き始めた西洋スイセン。
Daffodils are flowers of early Spring.
Japanese typesalready ended theri season.
But just European Daffodeil started flowering.
スイセンと言うと、すぐ「ナルシスト」ってイメージがついてきちゃうけど、実は、スイセンって「希望」を象徴するお花なんだよね。
From their binomial name, often we think about "narcissist", but the flower is also a symbol of "Hope".
カナダやアイルランドの団体が有名だけど、がん患者の支援団体は、スイセンをシンボルにしているところがいくつか。カナダでは「スイセンの日」（8月）があるほど。
In Canada and Ireland, and some other countires, there are organisations supporting cancer patients and their symbol are Daffodil.

Yuzu, every one knows Yuzu is from Sendai, also most of us know that his home town is "Izumi" in Sendai.
各市町村、県、みんなそれぞれの地域を代表するシンボルのお花があるでしょ？

And each municipality and prefecture in Japan has its symbol flower.
And guess, what is the symbol flower of Izumi?

Yeah, it's Daffodil!!!
スイセンにした理由がまた素敵！
「スイセンの花は清楚（せいそ）で気品があり、泉市の発展希望を表している」ですって。

And they say "The flowers of Daffodil are neat and elegant, and representing the hope of the development of Izumi."
Yeah, and the most famous person from Izumi too, "neat and elegant"!!
