瑠璃色の翼 lapis lazuli wings

水笛のような鳴き声のイソヒヨドリさん。

繁殖期が終わっているので、ちょっとぼけた色になっているけど、春頃は、翼は鮮やかな瑠璃色、おなかのオレンジ色ももっと鮮やか。

Blue Rock Thrush, their songs are sweet.

This is a boy, now it’s not a breeding season, so his plumage is not very brilliant now but in Spring, they got vivid Lapis Lazuli colour wings and orange colour body.

普通に街中にいるのになんで「磯」なんだろうって思っていたんだけど、

どうやら、もともとは（日本では）海岸に住んでいたみたい。

内陸にニッチを広げたのは最近らしくて、鳥さんを研究しているところで、

その原因を調べているらしいわ。

でも、学名は、孤独な山の子って意味になるし、英語では「岩場の青いツグミ」で、

「磯」に関係ないのよね。

内陸に移動していることも気になるけど、サラ的には、海外では山の岩場にいる子が、

なんで日本では海岸なのか、そっちも不思議。

Its binomial name is “Monticola solitarius” means a lonely mountain dweller, well, according to some reports they usually live in rocky mountains, but here in Japan, it’s so strange though they are called as “Coast Bulbul”, maybe their songs a bit like songs of Bulbul, but you know why they used to live in coastal areas in Japan? And now researchers are wondering why they started living in inland areas, formally they only lived in coastal areas.
