OshimaZakura in the far bank of Genbei River
they are much whitish than famous Someiyoshino
Cerasus speciosa
こちらは裏の公園のオオシマザクラ
OshimaZakura in the city park behind our’s
フランスも、コロナウィルスの状況が深刻だけど、パリ植物園にもオオシマザクラがあるとか・・でも、お花見どころじゃないだろうな・・早く落ち着きますように！
a friend told that an OshimaZakura tree is growing in Le Jardin des Plantes de Paris, deeply hope things go well and they can enjoy flowers!!
そう言えば、昨日のローカルニュースで、熱海に卒業旅行の若者が押しかけているって・・・東京や神奈川から。なんかね、自粛だから近いところでって何人も答えていたけど、自粛してないじゃん？！ってか電車乗ってきているんだよね・・で、TVに写っていた子たちほとんどマスクしていなくて・・なんとも心配になっちゃったわ！
yesterday, a local TV reported that there are many teenagers coming to Atami, in Izu peninsula from Tokyo. when they were asked they answered “we are asked to control ourselves, so we came here instead of going abroad” but, they are asked to avoid all nonessential outings, coming here is already “outing” and they came by trains, oh god!! and most of them on TV were not using masks, are they conscience of risks???

あれってほとんどが伊豆の松崎町で生産されていて、オオシマザクラの葉っぱなんだよ。
we have Spring special cake, called “Sakura Mochi” which made of rice/wheat with red bean paste, and wrapped in a salted Sakura leave
about 70% of salted Sakura leaves are produced here in Izu, and they are leaves of OshimaZakura.
この木、初夏にはちっちゃなサクランボがなるんだけどね。
一度、味見したのよ。思わず、顔が歪んだ～！苦々しい思い出！
in early Summer, this tree too have many cherry fruit, Sarah tried once, gosh! it was terribly bitter!!
源兵衛川のソメイヨシノは・・・まだほとんどの枝がつぼみ
Someiyoshino along Genbei River have only countable number of flowers, but soon all trees will have flowers!!!
