クリスマスローズとして知られるヘレボルス
one of typical early Spring flowers, Helleborus
本当は、クリスマスローズは真っ白で、ちょっと大型の
ヘレボルスの1種だけの名前だけど、なんか素敵な響きだものんね
ヘレボルスをみんな「クリスマスローズ」って呼んでいるみたい
they are usually called as “Christmas Roses” in Japan
however, “Christmas Rose” is one type of Helleborus, which
has white flowers in Winter around Christmas season
いろいろ、それぞれに名前があるようだけど・・・
あはは！よく、分かんない！m(__)m
each type has its own name though, sorry, no idea. . .
そして、この子たちの秘密は・・ふふ
花びらのように見せかけたガク！
they got a secret!
most of natural ones have no petal but petal-like sepals
花言葉が・・・「追憶」「不安を取り除いて」「私を忘れないで」
なんか・・・昨日にふさわしいお花だったわ
and they got lovely languages; “memories”,
“take my fear away” and “don’t forget me”
和紙の原料として知られるミツマタのお花
flowers of Oriental Paperbush, as the name tells
its bark are used for making Japanese paper
こんなかわいいお花だけど、花言葉は「強靭」「壮健」
looks so cute but its languages are “Tenacious” and “Healthy”
