On day 2, with me, @travelwithneel, rewind the time a bit and lets stop in 1650s at Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa or Jama Masjid, as it is known today. Built over 20 years by the efforts of 5000 workers, this enormous and magnificent structure cost about 1 million in the money of that time. Shahjahan got it built at a spot which looked over the whole city 'Shahjahanabad' and hence the name which literally translates to 'the mosque with commanding view of the world" Fun fact, if you enter through North gate you climb 39 steps, through east gate 35 steps and from south gate then 33 steps.
