Received beautiful things in the mail the other day.
I wanted to show you all.
When we think of a place famous for Apples in Japan...most Japanese people will say
Aomori Prefecture!
そうなんです❗

日本伝統文化たくさんっとのところです
伝統工芸の
津軽塗 つがるぬり
柄のお菓子です❗
When I visualise Aomori, even though I haven't been there before, I imagine a place where traditional arts and culture is deep and very much alive.
I receieved a special biscuit with a special pattern on it. The traditional pattern of Tsugarunuri.
Its delicate and beautiful.

In addition I received a beautiful handkerchief..
with a special and beautiful pattern
During the traditional Nebuta Matsuri/ Festival that happens in August every year, hand made giant floats and lit and carried around, People jump and dance for hours on end chanting rassera!!
They wear yukata or traditional Aomori nebuta wear.
This handkerchief is the pattern on the tranditional matsuri costume. They are hanehito:

Super beautiful and special.
Sometime I'd like to go to Aomori and join in on the jumping...
