Thriller 和訳【2】Michael Jackson

ハッピーハロウィン！

ハロウィンに因んだ曲🎃、ギリギリの企画でしたが、なんとか3曲目間に合いました。

最近何だか色々ありまして、夏に行った神社におととい参拝してきました。母の手術も無事済んだのでそのお礼も兼ねて、私や子供達のお守りも拝受。（←ついこの前こう言うのを知りました、 買うのではなく受けるのですね）

境内までの公園を歩いたり、おみくじを引いたり、少しだけ心が晴れたような気がします。

さて、ハロウィン当日の曲はキング・オブ・ポップの曲！ もうお馴染み過ぎるかとは思いますが『Thriller』を取り上げてみました。

1982年12月にリリースされたマイケル・ジャクソンの6枚目のアルバムは、発売から現在に至るまで6500万枚以上のセールスを記録。

その中からの第7弾シングルが、アルバムタイトルともなっているこの『Thriller』、ミュージックビデオに使われる予算は当時5万ドル（当時のレートで1150～1200万円）程度だったのに対し、この曲のMVは10倍の50万ドル（同 1億1500万～1億2000万円）をかけて作られたのだそう。

実は、この曲、私は結構怖いと感じる映像でして、あまり観たことがないのです。

もちろんテレビで流れていたり、超有名曲なので、色んなところで目にするのですが、きちんと通して観たのは一度あるかな？という程度。

MVは約14分というかなりの長さ。そしてご存知、モンスターがたーくさん登場するホラー映画仕立て。

そして、歌詞が、これまた長い！

マイコーさんの曲は以前に『Man In The Mirror』を和訳した時も、とても長いと感じたのですが、これもマイコーさんの特徴のひとつなのかな？と思います。

この有名なミュージックビデオを最初に載せますね。

和訳した歌詞は元々のシングルバージョンのものですので、最後にそのリリックビデオを載せておきます。

そして、ぜーんぜん関係ない動画もご紹介してきたこの企画。今回は関係ありまして（笑）Kevin's English Room / 掛山ケビ志郎 という方達の、この動画を見て、マイコーさんのこのスリラーを訳したくなったのでご紹介！

TikTokしてる方やYouTubeご覧になってる方は、きっとどこかで見たことあるのではないかな？と思います。
