そのインターン生に聞いたケンブリッジの話。
前回からの続き、
カレッジ制度についてもうちょっと話を聞きたいと思います。

ケンブリッジには世界中で有名なカレッジがいくつかあります。
よい名声のおかげで、入学志願者の数は他のカレッジより高いです。
下はケンブリッジ大学の一番有名なカレッジです。
Trinity College (トリニティ・カレッジ)
トリニティ・カレッジの価値は十億ポンドぐらいです。
Tescoというスーパーマーケットの株を５０％持っています。
一番財産のあるオクスブリッジのカレッジです。
伝統的に一番頭がいい数学専攻の学生はトリニティ・カレッジで勉強します。
Trinity College has an estimated worth of between £800 million and £1 billion. It owns 50% of the shares of Tesco. It is the wealthiest Oxbridge college. Traditionally, the most intelligent mathematics students apply to study at Trinity College.
Kings College (キングズ・カレッジ)
ケンブリッジでは、キングズ・カレッジには一番有名な建築物があります。
このチャペルは、キングス・カレッジで唯一、国王によって建築が開始された建物であります。
1446年よりヘンリー6世によって建て始められ、国王自身が7月25日、聖ジェームズ祭において礎石を置きました。
King’s College has the most famous architecture in Cambridge. The Chapel was started in 1446 under the orders of King Henry VI. The King laid the cornerstone of the chapel himself. The chapel is open to the public, used for religious services and also by the students and fellows of King’s College for events.
Queens’ College（クウイーンズ・カレッジ）
クウイーンズ・カレッジはケンブリッジの中を流れるケム川の両側に広がっています。
このカレッジは、英国皇室と強い繋がりを持っています。
エリザベス2世はカレッジ設立の正式な恩人で後ろ盾となったために、
食堂の壁には、今も大きないエリザベス2世の肖像画が飾られています。
クウイーンズ・カレッジは１４４８年に建てられました。
Queens’ College is a college which spans both sides of the River Cam. The college maintains connections to the British Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth II is the official patron of the college and a portrait of her hangs in the Dining Hall. Queen Elizabeth I, The Queen Mother, granted Queens’ College special permission to fly her royal flag at the beginning of each year. The College was founded originally in 1448 by Queen Margaret of Anjou, the wife of King Henry VI, who founded King’s College.
