こんにちは！講師のEmmyです。お久しぶりです。
最近は、このブログではなくInstagramに投稿することが多くなっていました。インスタ映えする写真を考えるのも楽しいですが、昭和生まれの私にとってはやっぱりアメーバブログの方が「ブログらしさ」があってしっくりきます。ということで、再開にあたり近況報告を少し。
教室もついに15年目に入りました！あっという間ですね。そして、ツインズももう8歳、小学3年生になりました。もともと「結婚して子どもができたら、一緒に過ごせる仕事をしたい」と思って始めたECCジュニア。振り返ると、想像していた通りの生活を送れていると思います。
この15年間で、最初は「絶対にできない！」と思っていたことが、今では普通にできるようになりました。例えば、次の10のことです！
1️⃣ 英会話レッスンを自信を持ってできるようになった
2️⃣ 小学校での指導ができるようになり、高学年向けのレッスンプランも作れるようになった
3️⃣ J-SHINEの資格を取得して、小学校英語を教えることができるようになった
4️⃣ イベントレッスンが得意になり、ハロウィンやクリスマスが大好きになった
5️⃣ 英検対策が得意になり、ついには面接官も務められるようになった
6️⃣ 子どもがいなくても、小さい子の対応が自然にできるようになった
7️⃣ 発表会や読み聞かせ会の企画ができるようになった
8️⃣ 教室のデコレーションにも力を入れるようになった
9️⃣ 町を歩いていると、たくさんの生徒や保護者に声をかけてもらえるようになった
🔟 新聞やテレビで教室を紹介してもらえた
始めた頃は、「どれも無理かも…」と思っていました。でも今振り返ると、やってみたら意外とできることがたくさんありました。15年前の私は「仕事と家庭の両立なんてできるのかな？」と不安だらけでした。でも、今ではこの仕事が天職だと感じています。長く続けていけるように、これからも努力していきます！

Hello everyone, this is Emmy! It’s been a while.
Lately, I’ve been posting more on Instagram rather than here on my blog. It’s fun coming up with Instagram content, but being someone born in the Showa era, I feel that Ameba Blog still has that true "blog" feeling—it just feels right to me!
So, to kick things off again, here’s a little update!
My English school has now been running for 15 years—time flies! And my twins are already third graders, 8 years old!
When I first started ECC Junior, my dream was to have a career where I could be with my children as they grew. Looking back, I think I’ve achieved that vision pretty well.
Through the years, I’ve gained so many skills I never imagined I could master! Here are 10 things I never thought I’d be able to do when I started:
1️⃣ Teach English conversation lessons with confidence
2️⃣ Teach at elementary schools, even planning lessons for older students
3️⃣ Earn my J-SHINE qualification to teach English at Japanese elementary schools
4️⃣ Become skilled at organizing seasonal event lessons, like Halloween and Christmas (I absolutely love them now!)
5️⃣ Become an expert in Eiken Test, even serving as an examiner
6️⃣ Handle young children, even before I had my own
7️⃣ Plan and host storytelling events and presentations for students
8️⃣ Get deeply involved in classroom decorations to create an engaging space for students
9️⃣ Have people recognize me around town—students and parents greet me warmly!
🔟 Even get featured in newspapers and on TV!
When I first started out, I thought all of these things were beyond my ability—I just couldn’t imagine myself doing them.
15 years ago, I constantly worried about whether I could balance work and home life. Now, teaching has become my true calling, and I continue working to make it something I can do for many years to come.
